I felt someone lift me up

I felt someone lift me up.

Too tired to care, I snuggled into their chest in response, as they began talking in a hushed whisper to someone beside them.

The body holding me started to walk forwards gently, cradling me against their chest as we walked through what I assume was a door.

What made me fully wake up was the sound of a loud voice, "Where the fuck have you guys been?!" Giovanni's voice boomed throughout the foyer.

I started awake, lifting my head off of what I discovered to be Massimo's chest and tightening my hold of his neck in response.

Massimo only help me tighter when he replied, "Keep your fucking voice down. We were at the mall, idiota."

(idiot)

I wiggled in Massimo's grip a little, indicating that I wanted to be put down now that I had woken up. He obeyed and put me on my feet gently, smiling at me softly as I looked up to thank him.

"You were at the mall all this time?! It's been over 5 hours and we got no message!" Giovanni seethed, not caring to lower his voice at all.

"We ran into some friends okay? Look, we're fine and we're here." Romeo retorted, too tired to deal with the situation.

"Yeah well that doesn't cut it Romeo, conosci lo stile di vita che viviamo." Giovanni replied, equally as angry as before.

(you know the lifestyle we live.)

Gods, were they even trying to hide the fact that they were in a mafia at this point?

They literally know I can speak Italian.

Idiots.

"Look, we're sorry. We ran into Mateo and Noah and-" Massimo began, trying to explain to Giovanni our absence.

"Mateo and Noah?" Giovanni sputtered increulously, "Oh fuck no, did they meet Carlotta?"

Romeo sighed heavily, "Urgh, yes but-"

"Fucking hell, you know your friends are fuckboys why would you-" Giovanni rants.

"HEY!" I yell, tired of this bullshit argument, "I was gonna meet them at school tomorrow anyways, and I can take care of myself against a couple 'fuckboys'." I retort. "They were actually very nice people, don't be a dick Gio."

And with that I had had enough, and begun my way to my room, shopping bags in hand. I could hear the distant arguing between my brothers start up again but decided to ignore their stubbornness.

I dumped all my bags in my room and flopped onto my bed, completely exhausted from the day's events.

I can't believe I have to start fucking school again tomorrow, and with my brothers to make things worse.
