"Could you have been any more suspicious?" Lorenzo whisper yelled as we all sat down on the couches in Angelo's office.
"Relax, it's not like her first guess at what we're talking about is gonna be mafia." Giovanni rolled his eyes, frustrated by Enzo's outburst.
"We all but left her standing in the foyer alone, after her first day of school with us! Could we not have done this more subtly?" Enzo argues back, to which I nod my head in agreement. I feel bad we left her so suddenly like that.
Giovanni was about to reply when Angelo cut us all off, "That's not our main priority as of this second. Right now we need to focus on the fact that the Greeks will know by now that Car has returned." Angelo begun. "No doubt Apollo will run home and be more than eager to share what he found out at school today. Now, we don't know what they're going to do with this information, but it's better to be safe than sorry."
"For starters you need to keep her away from him in school." Giovanni said pointedly, looking at Massimo and I.
"Hey it's easier said than done!" I exclaimed, "How the fuck do we tell her he's dangerous when you lot are too pussy to tell her about the mafia?"
"Watch how you speak to your brother Romeo." Angelo said sternly, to which I rolled my eyes.
"If we don't tell her, she'll be in more danger of the unknown. If we keep her in the dark, we'll keep having to abandon her like this and keep secrets. You want to grow close to her? Well right now we're all just pushing her further away." I continued my rant, passionate about making my case. Whilst I was saying all this, Massimo was nodding in agreement, him and I being the only ones determined to get Carlotta to know the truth.
Lorenzo was the first to speak up, "I agree." To which Giovanni snapped his head over to Lorenzo and glared, "I think that it's dangerous both ways, but Carlotta knowing what she's unconsciously gotten herself into is safer than her being completely oblivious."
Giovanni grunted unhappily, "She's our baby sister." He emphasised.
"Yeah and what if she was our baby brother? Huh?" Massimo suddenly snapped.
Giovanni looked at him, dumbfounded.
That shut him up.
"Guys enough." Angelo said sternly, breaking the stare off between Gio and Mass. "Gio, I think we need to consider what these three are suggesting." Angelo said, nodding to Mass, Enzo and I.
Giovanni was sulking like the baby he is, not offering any confirmation or denial.
Coming from Giovanni that's as much as a 'fine' as we'll get.
"Whatever, you guys sort it out. I'm gonna go check on Car." I huffed as I got up off the couch. I made my way out of the office, hearing a conversation start back up again between my brothers.
