What Have I Become

It was too late. The blade had gone through. It pierced right through her heart. "Mother." Her body fell over and Jack fell onto his knees. The barrier around them fell and everyone saw. They saw Jack mourning his mother's death. They saw Asterin on the ground dead. Jack was sobbing with his hands covering his face. 

Noah went over to him and sat down. "I know. It hurts, doesn't it? Watching someone kill themselves right in front of you." Noah hugged Jack and Jack cried on Noah's shoulder. Hannah ran over to them along with Lana.

"Jack? Jack, we have to go", Hannah said quietly. Jack wouldn't speak and couldn't speak because all he could do was cry. Noah put Jack on his back. "He just witnessed something traumatizing. Don't rush him. I'll carry him so let's go." 

Hannah nodded and the four of them left. Jack had fallen asleep on Noah's back as they were patrolling the city. They stopped on a rooftop and Noah put Jack down. "Jack? Jack, wake up." Jack opened his eyes and saw Noah.

"You're awake. For a minute I thought you were gone." Noah smiled slightly. Jack's memories started coming back to him. The things he'd said, the things he'd done. They were coming back. "I love you, Callan. That's what she said. 

That's what my mother said right before I brought her to kill herself. So call me that. Call me Callan because that's my name and Juliana Elysia and Jannet Rai. Call us by the names our mother gave us."

Callan stood up and Noah helped him balance. "Let's go find my sisters and set them free. No more games and no more interruptions. I'm tired of playing nice. It's time that I get serious. I will forever carry the guilt of making my mother kill herself and I know that if I get Elysia and Rai back I'll at least be doing her a favor. I'm not doing this for me anymore. I'm doing it for her because she was gone too fast and that's my fault. Let's go." Callan started flying and so did the others.

"Noah, you're a dog. See if you can smell Elysia. You met her once, didn't you? Try to remember her smell." Noah nodded and sniffed. "You two know it rained right. Their scent is probably gone by now", Lana said. "Just keep sniffing,'' Callan ordered. Noah continued sniffing, trying his best to find Elysia's scent. "I smell it! At the subway! Of course! There's a secret passageway there to get to Crasa De Vasa!" 

"Then let's get going", Callan says before speeding off, the others following closely behind. They landed at the mysteriously empty subway. Normally there'd be hundreds of people crowded at the subway. "I sense someone's presence and it isn't a good one", Callan says before running into the subway and throwing a knife in the direction he sensed someone.

The person dodged it and laughed. It was a woman. Not just any woman, it was Jan. "You. You're going to give Elysia and Rai back to me!" Jan smirked, "So you met your mother, Asterin. She's a pain, isn't she?" Jack started charging at Jan, but Noah got in front to stop him. "You can't just charge like that. Besides, there are other people here. Not just her." 

Callan looked around and saw other people holding their weapons and then he saw dead bodies on the tracks. "Where are they? Tell me", Callan demanded. Jan laughed and said, "Now why would I tell you, my secret?"

Callan tried to push Noah out of the way, but Noah wouldn't let Callan through. "Let me go over there. I'm gonna kill her! I'll kill them all!" Callan's eyes turned bright white again and then he fell to his knees. "Callan", Noah yelled. "Callan, get up. Come on." 

Callan was yelling and had his hands at the top of his head. He was pulling at his hair and was screaming in pain. "Make it stop! Stop it!!" Hannah ran over to Callan and Lana followed closely behind. "Callan! Callan", Hannah called out.
