After two hours Callan woke up to the smell of coffee brewing and the feeling of warmth around his body. He opened up his eyes and saw a wooden roof over him. He looked to his left and then his right. The place was empty but filled with so much furniture. He grunted as he struggled to sit up. The door to the room was closed. Then he watched as the knob turned and the door began to creak open. "So, you're finally awake", a man said. Callan tried reaching for his knife, but his pockets were empty. "I took your weapons away. Don't panic. You won't be needing them here."

The man fully opened the door and walked into the room. He was wearing a black cloak and a mask that covered the lower part of his face so that you could only see his hazel eyes. His eyes reminded Callan of the way Elysia's eyes sparkled in the sunlight. "Do you think you'll be fine walking on your own? I've prepared some coffee and tea, so I wanted to see if you wanted some and I wasn't sure if you'd be able to walk by yourself. "I'll be fine", Callan assured him. Then he got out of the bed and found his balance. Then he followed the man to the kitchen. "Callan! You're ok", Hannah said excitedly. Callan smiled and sat down at the table with them. "Yep. I'm perfectly fine."

"Thanks to your friend, Lana, you were able to survive that horrible poison along with the more serious injuries", the man says while pouring a cup of coffee. Callan looks over at Lana, "Thank you, Lana. You didn't have to save me, and you didn't have to care, but you did. So thank you." Lana smiled and nodded. Callan looked over at Noah, "You ok, Noah?" Noah nodded and smiled slightly. Callan looked down and then over at the man. "So, who are you anyway? I don't like talking to strangers about serious problems."

"I'm Alistair, but you can call me dad if you'd like." Callan's eyes widened and he gasped. He was speechless and frozen. "You're my father?" Alistair nodded, "I am your father. I know you're confused because of what Jan said. She wasn't lying. She did kill me, but death isn't that simple for me. It's not like I can die from a knife straight through the heart or even a burning fire. It's not that simple for me and it won't be that simple for you either, Callan."

Callan's eyes started tearing up. "Is it true? Did you and Asterin really give me up?" Alistair looked down and took a deep breath. "Yes. Yes, we did, but not to Jan. I'll explain it all to you later." Tears were rolling down Callan's face and he wouldn't look up from the ground. "I made her kill herself. I might make you do the same thing. You should stay away from me. I've heard that I'm a monster." Hannah turned away from Callan and shut her eyes. "I already told you that death for me isn't simple. You can't make me kill myself and you can't kill me."

Callan looked up and his eyes were white again. Not from anger this time, but from sadness and pain. Noah knew how Callan felt all too well. Noah went over to Callan and put his arm around him. "It hurts. I know. Trust me when I say I know." A single tear rolled down Noah's cheek. Callan kept crying and Noah continued to console him. No one knew much of Noah's background or his past, but Noah seemed to know everything about theirs. Noah didn't always have friends and he never had a true family. He only knew who his mom was because he lived with her for five months and then he was taken in by the woman with golden hair.

"Callan? Can I have a word with you alone?" Noah signaled for Callan to follow him and so he did. They went into the bedroom that Alastair had let Callan sleep in. Noah shut the door and sighed, "Callan. You got to talk to the woman with golden hair, correct?" Callan sat down on the bed and nodded. "What did you guys talk about?" "We talked about my memories and how I'd forgotten them and how my parents were alive and how I can get to Crasa De Vasa. Why are you asking this?"

Noah bit his lip nervously, "She was my caretaker when I was younger. She told me all about her adventures and the people she knew. She took care of me and made sure I learned how to use the power I was given. She also told me about you. Alastair and Asterin gave you, Elysia, and Rai up to that woman. I'm sorry I didn't tell you before." Callan looked up at Noah, "So you knew who I was a long time ago?" Noah nodded.
