Abby

I cried a lot on Ashton's shoulder. This is the first time I cried in front of a boy. Because usually I never cries. Not even in front of Luke.

Ashton caresses my hair, as I went on crying.

"I just want you to know, Abby, that out there, there's a person who loves you. Who truly loves you. You just haven't found him yet."

"Ash, I'm not interested in love anymore. I'm just afraid that I'll got hurt."

"well you don't have to be afraid. Because everyone deserves their own true love. And so do you." he said as he wiped my tears.

I smiled.

For the first time in front of him, I smiled.

"so, if you don't mind. Tell me, what is it that makes you doesn't want to believe in love anymore."

I looked at him.

"because people doesn't understand the promises they made when they make them. Perhaps it was because of my dad. But I don't want to spread the details." I said.

He smiled.

"okay then..." he said.

I see him taking the daisy flowers that planted right beside us. He tied it all into a flower crown.

"this might be cheeky." he said as he sighed.

He put the flower crown on my head.

"Daisies were white. So do what I hoped when you return to the campsite. Empty. Blank. With no biggie on Niall." he smiled.

"I don't actually love him" I think.

Then, he stood up, walked around me. Now I know what Luke meant by him being hyperactive.

"so, when you feel sad, you're always running to the outdoors, why?"

How did he know?

"how do you know I always ran to the outdoors?"

He smiled brightly.

"of course. At school, you're always at the rooftop or the penthouse when you're sad," he said as he played with the water. "then you ran here, to the waterfall."

I smiled softly.

"because outdoors always helps me to think," I said. "when I see the sky, I could feel relaxed. When I see the people around, I noticed that every person would have a terrible mistake inside them, including me. So I should forgive them."

"how mature." Ashton says, rolling his eyes.

"so you're a drummer? Can you sing?"

"not really, no." he looked at me then giggled.

"sing for me." I said, looking at him.

"but I'm a terrible singer." he said.

"I don't care."

He smiled, he took his breath then slowly he sings.

"you call me up
It's like a broken record
Saying that your heart hurts
That you never get over him getting over you
And you end up crying
And I end up lying
Cuz I'm just a sucker for anything that you do
And when the phone call finally ends
You say "thanks for being a friend"
And we're going in circles again and again." he sings as he looked to the waterfall.

"I dedicate this song to you
The one who never sees the truth
That I can take away your hurt,
Heartbreak girl.
Hold you tight straight through the daylight
I'm right here when you gonna realize
That I'm your cure
Heartbreak girl." he ended his song.

I smiled widely.

"your voice is not bad at all, Ash." I giggled.

"well, for you. But you have to know that Calum had to shut my mouth a couple of times in class." he laughed.

I took a breath.

"now, I've heard you sang before. Your voice is not bad. But why decathlon?"

"because I want to change the world, perhaps?" I chuckled.

"now, sing a song that describes your life."

"no I won't."

"pleeeaseee?" he puppy-eyed.

I rolled my eyes, smiles.

"I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through.
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you.

Every long lost dream, led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart, they were like northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true,

That God bless the broken road that led me straight to you." I ended my song as I looked at the sky.

Ashton looked at me, seems like he was amazed.

"okay, now I'm really confused why did you take decathlon. If only you're in music department, you'll be popular."

"I'm not interested in oblivion." I said as I chuckled.

I pointed at his bandana.

"why are you always wearing this?"

He looked down, ashamed.

"don't tell anyone," he said quietly. "I have a bald spot."

I laughed, so is he.

Wow. Now I see what is Jane talking about about his laugh.

" okay we should head back, Luke probably worried by now." he said.

***

"Abby!!!" Luke ran towards me as I arrived with Ashton in the campsite. Then he hugged me.

"I'm fine, Luke." I said.

Ashton seems like holding his laugh towards Luke's worry.

"I still haven't done with you, Irwin." he said, looking at Ashton.

"okay, leave him alone, Luke," I said. "what happens to me isn't related with him. In fact, he's the one who brought my smile back." I said.

Luke lifted his eyebrows.

"really?"

I nodded.

"Ashton!!! Where have you been!?" Jessica, again appears like a parasite, she clings to Ashton's arms.

"I'm just walking around." he said emotionless.

Jessica looks at me.

"for her!?" she said.

I rolled my eyes.

"You have to know that I love you, Ashton!!! All these years!? Why can't you see that!?" she suddenly yelled at Ashton.

"because I can't love you back, Jessica. I never loved you back."

Then Jessica pulls Ashton's arms and give him a kiss in his lips.

Ashton's eyes widened.

So did mine.

My heart explodes to pieces, this time for real.
