-- NIANA'S POV --

I got home, threw what I bought on the kitchen counter and practically trudged upstairs to my room.

The staircase seemed somewhat longer today and it just got even more annoying with every step I took.

"Darling? Is that you?" I heard my dad call out from his room making my eyes widen.

He was back?

"Daddy." I squealed as I ran into his room to hug him.

He was wearing his pyjamas and applying vitamin c serum to his skin.

"How is my angel doing?"

"I missed you a lot daddy." I pouted as I rest my head on his chest while his hands wrap around me.

"I was only gone for a week."

"Still, I missed you." I smiled hugging him tighter.

My Dad was a single parent, I lost my mom when I was ten and my dad has been the one taking care of me since then.  He owns a big cosmetic company which he named after my mom. My Dad has been through alot and the fact that he's still single still surprises me. He worked really hard to get to where he is today-- being a multi billionaire.

He fulfilled his promise to my mom every passing day when he said I would never lack anything, especially parental attention and guidance. I'm very proud of him and I wouldn't have asked for a better father.

"How was school?"

"Same as usual."

"Any new friend? Boyfriend? Girlfriend?"

"Dad I'm straight and no, no new friends or boyfriend."

My Dad can be too open minded at times.

"I haven't seen Sydney in a long time, hope she's fine?"

"Yeah, she's fine." I said taking his wine glass from his bed side table and drinking from it.

"You shouldn't gulp wine like that." He said taking the glass from me.

"You're no fun." I groaned as I stood up to go freshen up.

"See you at the dinning." He called out.

"Okay daddy."

I opened my door to see My day one caretaker, Miss Anita, clearing my books.

"I'm so sorry Miss Anita, I was going to do it when I got back." I rushed over to help her out.

"I get that all the time." She said sternly as she pinched my cheek.

Miss Anita has been staying with us since I was ten, my mother had just passed away and my dad was so busy with the office, so he employed a nanny to take care of me while he was away. With time as he progressed in his work place, he employed more servants but Miss Anita insisted on staying.

She loved me alot and the things she does for me. I remember one time when I spilled ink on my dad's office files, she actually took the blame for me. My Dad scolded her a lot that day but she never exposed me. I tried linking her up with my dad one time, but she said she didn't want to be with a man for money, so she would rather marry the person she loves.

I still feel they should get together since she's still single and my Dad likes her a lot, but she is just so stubborn and blind to my Dad's feelings.

"I promise, I had that thought."

She chuckled as she picked up the last book. "You had the thought of arranging your books?"

"Yeah."

"Which means there was a probability that you weren't going to do it?"

"Maybe." I mumbled bit she probably heard me.

"Silly girl." She said knocking my head making me shriek in pain.

"I would say I love you if that didn't hurt." I groaned rubbing the spot.

"Dinner will be ready in thirty, freshen up and come downstairs." She said and left, locking the door behind her.

I freshened up and wore my pyjamas.  As I was about to wear my crocs, I saw the bandage on my ankle and I suddenly remembered Arlo.

That jerk.

How would I face him tomorrow? I was so embarrassed when he recognised me, he would probably tell his friends of how I was his experiment to test kissing.

Gahhh!

I just hate him.

And what is it with me running away? Why didn't I ask him the question that's been on my mind for ten years now? Why he decided I was the best experiment to test that little trick of his?

Thinking about it all made my head ache, so I wore my crocs, plugged my phone and headed downstairs to eat. Food was a remedy for all conflicts of the heart.

"Why don't you join us?" My Dad focused his attention on Anita.

"Sure." She smiled as she sat down and I watch my Dad smile secretly.

School boy.

I wasn't happy because my Dad finally got over my mom's death, I was happy because he found someone that made his happy like my mom did.

I wouldn't exactly say Miss Anita was like my mom. My mom was a black beauty, brown skin, brown eyes, small round face and a petite body with the nicest figure. She was soft and always had a smile on. Her curly hair was always on a neat, tight bun and she always took precautions at home seeing as she was a doctor-- Neurosurgeon.

She never got strict with me, she was calm and didn't have time for spanking kids, instead she used her love and sweet words to discipline kids. She was the love of my life and I hope to be her daughter again if there's a second life.

Then there's Miss Anita, she was strict yet caring. She knew what to do at the right time, She was pretty-- with curly brown hair, green eyes, fair skin and her nice personality wasn't missed out.

But one thing I loved about her was the fact that she could care less about money, my Dad had nothing back then after my mother's death but she still decided to take care of me even though my Dad could only pay little.

Also, the way she respects my mom is surprising, she liked to keep memories of my mom around the house anytime we missed her and who else will be best for my Dad if not Miss Anita?
