-- NIANA'S POV --

"How dare you keep me in the dark?"

I moved my ear away from the phone as Sydney's loud voice boomed through it's speakers.

"I don't understand." I said after sometime.

I hear her sigh before speaking this time in a calm voice. "Why didn't you tell me you and Arlo are getting married?"

That question made my eyes almost fall off it's socket. How the hell did she know about it? Fuck! I'm done with.

"I promise, I was going to tell you but I didn't know how to explain and Arlo said he wanted to keep it a secret." I said sheepishly hoping she wasn't so angry.

"That's good news baby and for the records I'm your bride's maid whether you have one or not." She yelled again making me sigh inwardly in relief.

She wasn't as angry as I thought and I'm happy that she's happy for me but how would Arlo take this? He has damn feelings for her.

"How did you know?" I asked as I wrote down something on the wedding list.

"Your Dad came to invite my parents personally and don't worry, he also explained the reason and I might have eavesdropped on the conversations but girl I'm happy for you." She laughed at the end.

"Yeah, but Arlo is not so happy and I don't think I have feelings for him anymore." I frown before realising she can't see me.

"Scratch that baby girl, this is the heavens telling you that he belongs to you and you alone."

If only she knew-- that she was the one he liked.

"Would you like to go shopping with me after school tomorrow?" I asked as I stared at the long list before sighing.

"We should take Miss Anita along." She squealed.

"No, she already have so much on her desk right now and it's just my dress and some other things we have to shop for." I sigh rubbing my now throbbing head.

"Alright then, see you tomorrow." She said before hanging up.

Just then My door opened and Arlo came to view.

"There's a word called knocking and what the elf are you doing here?" I asked.

"Did you just say elf instead of F?" He asked coming to sit on my bed before taking the list from me.

"Whatever floats your boat." I mumble, irritation flowing through my blood.

"You are getting married, not dying." He said dangling my list on my face.

"Exactly, I'm getting married, not dying." I snort as I forcefully took the list from him and tucked it safely underneath my pillow before lying down.

"Then why do you have such a long list? We've been shopping for the past two weeks and you still have such a long list?"

"Sue me."

"Women and their troubles." He said coming to lie down close to me.

"I don't remember us this close." I said using a pillow to demarcate our close bodies.

"This close?" He said before climbing top of me and bring his face close to mine, our lips almost brushing.

I blushed deep red as I bit on my lips nervously looking away from him. He knew he still had this type of effect on me.

"W-What are y-you doing?" I stuttered then spoke again when he refused to move. "A-Arlo?"

He fell back in laughter. "You needed to have seen your face."

I looked at him as I flushed in embarrassment, I didn't think he would play with my feelings like this.

"Stop it."

"Stop what?" He asked stiffling his laugh.

I looked up to meet his eyes. "Stop making it seem as though I still have feelings for you."

"It's not my fault you still have feelings for me." He shrugged.

"I hate you and I would really like it if you leave now."

"Gosh, I don't want to look like a bad person, but you know on what condition we are getting married." He groaned.

"I know you like Sydney and not me and I plan on getting a divorce few months after the wedding so you can live you life freely." I said as I felt tears prick at my eyes.

He ran his hands through his hair before looking at me angrily "Don't do something that will hurt our parents."

"Why are you the only one who gets angry? We don't even love each other and you want me to live with you all my life?" I yelled getting tired of his childish attitude.

"Do what you want." He whispered turning to leave.

"Sydney knows about the wedding." I say making him halt in his tracks.

"What?" He whispered.

"Sydney knows we are getting married and she wants to be the bride's maid." I say again.

"You told her?" He asked coming closer to me.

"My Daddy did, so it's better you come to a realisation that we are stuck in this fake wedding." I say before making my way into my bathroom and shutting the door.

One minute, he's all close to me and interested in the wedding arrangement and the next minute, he's angry with me about how he's getting married to someone he doesn't love.

I understand his point of view because I'm also stuck in the same situation and I don't even know again if I can keep up with hating him, this past weeks, we are always together, both in School and home. We've been making the wedding arrangements together and we have been civil without any argument but the more I see that side of him, the more I fall for him.

I thought I got over my feelings for him but I was wrong, I still liked him a lot deep down but pretend to hate him to convince myself and even though I should be happy that I'm getting married to the boy I love, I'm also worried that it won't be a happily ever after.

Not when the said boy has feelings for my best friend and he won't even look my way.
