Chapter 03: It's Platonic

Narrator's POV

*** Flashback Continued ***

Camila was back three hours later. She took a shower and had her breakfast before she went to the reading room to enjoy her Sunday morning. Into her reading for thirty minutes, Lauren showed up and sat next to her. Camila did not need to find Lauren and asked the same question. Lauren and the rest would come and explain to her if she had asked them something. Camila was not only their big sister, but she also always got their back.

"Hi, Camz!" Lauren sweetly smiled at Camila.

Camila slightly looked at Lauren and was back to her book, "Yes?"

"I can come back later if you want to read," Lauren said. She just hoped Camila would forget about their morning conversation. On the other hand, she wanted to share the story of her new experience with someone. Camila was the only right person.

"No. I am all ears." Camila closed the book. She lifted her legs on the sofa and sat crossed legs facing Lauren.

"Okay...but..." Lauren looked at the doorway. She did not want anybody to walk in or eavesdrop on their conversation.

Camila frowned again, "do you want to change place?"

"Yes, please. Can we talk in your room?" Lauren asked.

"Yes." Camila stood up and took the book with her.

"No," Lauren said, and Camila looked at her again.

"Lauren..." Camila questioned her decision.

"I mean my room." Lauren gave her best smile to Camila. Lauren was being all sweet. Camila knew she had a secret and did not want Camila to be mad but cooperate with her.

"Okay." They went to Lauren's bedroom. Camila's room was on the same floor as their mama's room, and Lauren did not want to have her walk in when they were talking. It was better to talk about it in Lauren's room. Dinah was out, and Normani was in her room. She would not hear anything as she was always on her headphone.

Camila took a seat on the little couch, and Lauren sat on the bed. Camila was waiting for Lauren to start.

"I..." Lauren scratched he head. "..." she was looking at Camila.

"Yes?" Camila asked after more than a minute passed.

"I didn't sneak out last night," Lauren said. "I just forgot to tell you that I would stay at my friend's place."

"Forgot?" Camila asked.

"Yes... I mean I did not plan to stay over. It just happened."

"Uh hu..."

"I did not do anything bad. I didn't break any nose." Lauren smiled.

"Good." Camila said. "and...?"

"I..." Lauren stopped, and Camila raised one of her eyebrows, "will you promise me. It's between us?"

"It depends," Camila said.

"Camz... please..." Lauren was begging Camila with her sweetest attitude.

"If it's something too bad, I have to tell mama."

"It's not...that bad."
