Chapter 14: Jealousy

Narrator's POV

Camila was walking to the parking lot after her last class on Friday afternoon. She and Normani always met at the parking space after class before they headed home. She was with Cole, the guy who had a crush on her. Normani smiled when she saw the two walking toward her.

"Hi!" Normani greeted them. Camila smiled.

"Hi, Normani!" Cole greeted Normani.

"Mila, why don't you ask Cole to join us?" Normani said. She did not ask me yesterday when Lauren and Dinah suggested she ask her in the evening. She did it last minute before they were leaving the campus to their pizza place.

Camila and Cole looked at each other.

"I..." Camila did not think it was the time to introduce Cole to everyone. "Maybe we can arrange something next time. Lauren and Dinah usually love it just between us." Camila looked at Cole, "sorry, Cole! My sisters can be... picky." Camila even did not know what the right word to use.

"Don't worry!" Cole said, "I understand." Cole was an understanding guy.

"No, it's okay. They know and would be happy to meet you." Normani said.

"They know?" Camila looked at Normani. She was dumbfounded.

"Yes. They noticed you're not coming home with me these days. They asked me and I told them you're with Cole." Normani stated the fact.

"Oh..." Camila internally sighed, but she knew the four of them shared almost everything. "Do you want to join us?" Camila had no reason to not invite Cole.

"Yes, sure!" Cole was not going to reject his crush's invitation.

"Great! Shall we go now?" Normani asked.

"Yes." Camila and Cole nodded.

"I'll take my car," Cole said and looked at Camila, hoping Camila would join her. Camila did not answer immediately.

"You can join Cole or me!" Normani shrugged. Either way, she was fine. Meanwhile, Camila wanted to ask Normani how the girls knew and why she wanted Cole to join the pizza time.

"I'll join Mani, Cole!" Camila said.

"Oh, alright!" Cole smiled, doing his best to cover his disappointment.

They left after Camila told Cole the place where they were heading to.

"Mani, whose idea is it?" Camila asked Normani as they were heading to the pizza place.

"It's Dinah," Normani answered.

Camila sighed, "Dinah!"

"You don't have to ask him if you don't want to," Normani said as she saw Camila was a bit frustrated.

"I know." Camila had told Cole that she would have lunch with her sisters before they met Normani at the parking space. Cole would like to join, but Camila rejected him, saying that they liked it private. By Normani telling them that Lauren and Dinah would be happy to see Cole, Camila could not reject Cole further. Camila was just not ready to introduce Cole to everyone. Although they had known each other for a year they just got to know each other closer this week.

"We can stop and tell him that the girls canceled it last minute," Normani said.

"No, it's okay." Camila gave in. She did not want to overthink. It was just lunch anyway. On the other hand, she hoped by introducing Cole, Lauren would stop having a crush on her.
