Chapter 09: Avoidance

Narrator's POV

Camila and Lauren were looking into each other's eyes. Lauren was smiling, and Camila was expressionless. Lauren's smile slowly faded as her eyes traveled away from Camila's eyes. Camila also looked away from Lauren's eyes. She slowly averted her eyes to Lauren's nose before her lips. Lauren followed suit and looked at Camila's lips. They looked back into each other's eyes. Lauren's lips were slightly apart like she wanted to say something.

"Lauser..." the door flew open as Dinah came in.

Camila turned her head in the door direction while Lauren closed her eyes.

"Is she still sleeping, Mila?" Dinah asked Camila when she saw Lauren was still lying with her eyes closed.

Camila turned back to Lauren. She frowned and did not answer Dinah.

Dinah walked to Lauren's side and woke her up, "Lauser, wake up!"

"No..." Lauren buried her face into the pillow.

Normani came in, "Here she is..." They were looking for Lauren.

Camila was sitting up. She was still struggling. Normani walked over to help her, "slowly!"

"Thanks, Mani!"

"Do you need something?" Normani asked Camila.

"I need to use the toilet." Camila slowly walked to her bathroom, and Normani was by her side. Camila could stand up now, but she still had to walk slothfully.

Lauren and Dinah were no longer in Camila's room when Camila was out of her bathroom. There was only Normani, sitting on the couch, waiting for Camila.

"Do you want to have your dinner in the room?" Normani asked.

"Yes, please, Mani." Camila sat back on her bed, "Thank you!"

"Okay, I'll be right back!" Normani left the room.

"It's so boring we have to stay home on Valentine's day!" Dinah exclaimed.

"Isn't it good to spend the lovely day with your family?" Normani replied to her.

"Yeah... you're right, too," Dinah told Normani, who sat across from her in their living room. Dinah looked at Lauren, who was sitting next to her, "Lauren..."

"What's up?" Lauren was scrolling thru her phone. She did not bother to look at Dinah when Dinah called her.

"What did you get for Rosaliá?" Dinah asked.

"I've bought a big bar of chocolate and lipstick for her." She was still on her phone.

"A lipstick?!" Dinah was shocked.

"Yeah... she loves lipsticks." Lauren looked like she was not interested to talk about her girlfriend.

"Have you asked Mama Yo if Rosaliá could come over to see you?" Normani asked. Three of them knew how Lauren was doing with Rosalià.

"No." Lauren simply answered.

"So, you haven't passed the chocolate and lipstick to her?" Normani guessed.

"No." Another short answer.

"Do you want me to deliver them?" Dinah was looking for a chance to go out. It was less than two weeks since the attack. Yolanda wanted them to lie low.
