Her eyes moved back to Chaeyoung, who was playing an offline game she had thankfully downloaded on her phone before everything went downhill. She kept darting back and forth on the gun, and Chaeyoung. She bites the inside of her cheeks, letting out a small sigh.
She can't just take her own life, she has someone else to protect. Someone who is very precious to Jennie. If she failed to protect her own mother, she cannot fail to protect Park Chaeyoung.
She can't even imagine what it would be like for Chaeyoung to wake up and finding her lifeless body on the floor, gun in hand.
She already saw something like that before, she cannot bear to let Chaeyoung be hurt, emotionally or physically, in such a trying time like this.
The brunette laid her head on the blonde's shoulders, and Chaeyoung didn't seem to mind.

A week after the end of the world has officially begun, the apartment's food supplies have depleted by alot. Jennie looks inside the cabinets and fridge, counting how many food they still have left.
"Not much left.. we can try to stretch it out by only eating one meal per day though?" Jennie thinks to herself. She takes out a can of beans and pineapple, placing it on the table in front of the couch.
"Chae, we don't have much food left. What should we do?" Jennie calls out for the younger girl, who was half-asleep. The brunette examines Chaeyoung's facial features, and notices the dark circles under her eyes. She sighs to herself.
"Poor girl, she must be so tired." The older girl proceeds to shake Chaeyoung awake, which fortunately worked. "H-huh? What is it, Jen?" Chaeyoung rubs her eyes and squints at the two cans on the table.
"Not much food left, should we try going out?" Jennie asks. That sentence alone was enough to make Chaeyoung alert and aware of her surroundings.
"GO OUT? Are you crazy?!" Chaeyoung stood up, in clear shock. Does Jennie not know the dangers of the outside world? Does she not realize that at any moment someone could take her and expose her to the sunlight?
"I know it sounds like suicide, but we barely have any food left! Don't tell me you're willing to eat one meal comprising of canned food for the rest of your life!" Jennie exclaims, loud enough for Chaeyoung to realize how Jennie feels but not loud enough to attract people over, after all, they survived for a week and there was no way Jennie would let the two of them die because of an argument over food supplies.
Chaeyoung shook her head, pacing back and forth as she rack her brains, trying to think of an idea that wouldn't involve one of them going out to the dangerous world. However, all her attempts were futile, as she stood still, surrendering to Jennie's eternal cold gaze that was watching her.
"Fine.." She raises her hands up. "But we have to go together."
Now it was Jennie's turn to shake her head.
"Oh nono, you're not going out! You're gonna stay here while I.." The brunette points to herself, "go and get some food."
The blonde crossed her arms, unwilling to give up. "Jen, if we die, we might as well die together!"
The older girl answers by crossing her arms too. "No, it's safer if only one of us went out! One death is better than two!" Jennie glares at Chaeyoung, her tone being one that says "Im older, you should follow me."
Chaeyoung glared back at her, her eyes saying "It's safer if we go as a group, you should follow me." Eventually, Chaeyoung ends the staring competition as she closes her eyes and sighs.
