"But we can't be together." Jisoo looks away, she couldn't bare to see Jennie's face.
An awkward and tense silence enveloped them. The longer this went on, the more Jisoo got worried. Finally, the raven tries to say something.
"Listen, Jennie, I-" The raven was suddenly cut off by the younger girl who stood up, her head was down and hair covered her face.
"Save it, Jisoo." The brunette tries to walk out of the room when the older girl suddenly pulled her arm, making her turn around.
"Jen, I can explain.. please if you would just let me-" Jennie forces her arm out of the raven's tight grip and looks down.
"What else is there to explain? You don't like me, that's it."
"Im doing this for the two of us, it's better this way." Jennie's head immediately shot up, she was bewildered.
"Better this way?! Jisoo, you're disregarding my feelings here! If you do care, you wouldn't have said something like that!" Jennie raises her voice, causing the older girl to flinch as she never expected Jennie to suddenly raise her voice, but quickly regains composure.
"Jennie, you're not listening to me! I don't want to engage in a relationship because it's too burdening for the both of us especially when the world around us is literally ending! We need to focus on basic survivability rather than a relationship!" The raven raises her voice as well, feeling just a little challenged.
"Oh yeah?! We have each other! If you're ever stressed, you have your partner to help you! But, I guess you wouldn't know that since you never had a healthy relationship with that fucking Im Nayeon!" The brunette was so caught up in anger that she failed to notice Jisoo's shock at the mention of Nayeon.
"Ugh, whatever! I don't fucking need you." Jennie leaves the room, slamming the door shut, not caring to give the older girl one last look.
The raven stood there quiet, but not for long as she immediately breaks down in tears. She sat on the floor, hugging her knees to her chest and crying her heart out. Regret and guilt filled the raven's mind, it was all she could think about.
"Why did I say that?"
"Im such an idiot..."
"Jennie didn't deserve that..."
Jisoo couldn't even stand up to look for the younger girl and apologize as she was too weak mentally. She couldn't bring herself to do anything else, and so she only stared at the wall, scratching her knee ever so slightly due to anxiety.
It felt like hours after Jennie left. She hadn't seen Jennie or the other girls, she checked her phone and it was only several minutes after the brunette left. Jisoo wipes her tears away with her own sleeve, oh how she wished it was Jennie's caring hands instead, and that the two girls could forgive and forget.
She slowly stood up to sit on the bed, her legs felt weak. It was as if she hadn't eaten anything in days. Suddenly, a notification appeared on her phone and Jisoo checked it.
Unknown Number: Care killed the cat.
Unknown Number: Checkmate, Kim Jisoo.
Her eyebrow quirked at the strange messages. She had a strange gut feeling, and the raven didn't like that at all. Despite feeling emotionally drained, Jisoo quickly goes out of the room and into the living room, where she spots two girls taking a nap.
"Chaeyoung! Lisa!" The two immediately woke up at the sound of their names.
"Huh? Wh-what?"
"Jisoo! I just wanted to sleep, man."
