"Lidia!" I could hear my name being called from down the hall, but I couldn't hwlp to think about the fact that I personally tore my family apart.
"Lidi, there's no need to cry. You're safe now no one can hurt you." Denise tried her hardest to sooth me, but nothing was going to work. I needed to talk to Kev. He always knew exactly what to say when I need the comfert the most. Let me give you a little backround to who I am and where I've come from. Well, my name is Lidia Jonas. I'm fourteen years old and yes, you did hear correctly I did say my last name was Jonas. My mother died a while back from cancer. It was one of the hardest things I thought I would ever have to go through. If only I had a crystal ball then. My birth family had always been really close to the Jonas's. We grew up together in New Jersey. When they became famous we kept in touch and we would always meet in the middle of my house and their shows. We were always really close. When my dad lost his job when I was eleven, he turned to drinking and drugs. When my dad turned to drinking I could never please him, so he started abusing me. I ran to my only hope. The Jonas's. They leagaly adopted me without even blinking an eye. I have been living with them for about four months now and have yet to hear even a single peep from my dad. He is still mad at me for running away from him and said he never wanted to speak to me again.
"Lidi please come down and eat something." Denise said, this time right out side my door.
"I'm sorry," I replied trying to hold back the still flowing tears, "It's just I'm not ready."
"Do you want me to go get Kev?"
"Yes please." Kevin was the one I was closest too. Don't get me wrong I love all four of them it's just Kevin always knew how to make me feel better.
"Hey Lid." Kevin always called me Lid when he knew I needed some comfert. My mom always called me that and it was always our special nick name. When she passed she made him promice to call me that so I had something of her to hold on to. Only Kev called me that, everyone else knew that.
"Hey Kev. I'm sorry you had to come up here, it's just I really needed some one to talk to."
"Lid I understand. You've been through a lot lately."
"Why do you think he didn't love me Kev?"
"Lidia Kay! Don't you dare think that. Your father always loved you, it's just alchohol didn't love him."
" It's just I want to know deep down inside me that he still want's me as his daughter."
"He does. You did what was best for you not for him. That's what he taught you all along right?"
"I guess you're right."
"Come on Lid. Let's go eat." He wiped my tears and kissed me gently on the fore head. Kevin has always been there for me, he knew my darkest times and helped me through them.
He followed me downstairs and into the dining room where the rest of the family was waiting. I took my normall spot next to Nick. He took my hand and gave it a reassuring squees. Joe just kicked my leg. I kicked it back, but harder. He fell to the floor knowing it would make me laugh... It did.
"So the boys are going back on tour soon, and we decided it would be best for you if you come with. You will continue school with a tutor and you will be under our protection and guidence." Kevin Sr. said with the comment directed straight at me. The thought of being on the road stung me. I loved my school and my best friend K. I didn't want to go on tour.
"Do I have to?"
"Yes. We are only doing what's best."
"Okay." This was going to take some getting used too, but I liked the idea of being able to excape all my troubles.
