"Hey munchkin, how was school?" Joe asked as we walked through the front door back at home.
"Eh... it was school. Better than last year, but nothin to special." I answered shrugging. I wasn't about to tell him about Jaden.
"Hang in there squirt things will get better." He said giving me a reassuring hug. Just then Nick walked into the room shooting me a smirk. I pleaded silently with him to just keep his mouth shut on the events he witnessed today, obviously he's not a mind reader.
"She met a guy today." I shot him daggers as he shruged his shoulders completely dismissing the fact he just through me under not a bus, but a giant freaking semi truck.
"Pft. Naww. I ran into a guy today, appologized, he was being a gentlemen and introduced himself, I went to find Nick. Nothing happened." I said trying to hide my embaressment on the topic, but could feel my cheecks flushing red as I tried more and more to hide it.
"Oh? Well maybe we should just bond a little tomorrow morning. What about I take you to school?" He had his 'I have an ingenious plan to rat you out and pummle another guy to the ground' tone of voice so I decided to play along.
"Sure that sounds good. Nick you won't mind will you?" I asked innocently. They both looked suprised at how I didn't put up a fight, but I had something better planed.
"Umm yeah totaly. You guys have fun." Nick answered suspiciously as he walked away.
"Well, I'm gonna go grab a snack." I said walking away with a grin on my face, leaving Joe in the hallway alone.
(Texting)
L: Hey Kev.
K: Hey girly watz up?
L: Can I sleep over tonight?
K: Depends. Will I be harboring a fugitive?
L: No. I suprisingly am not in trouble... yet. Just need some girl time with Dani.
K: Fo sho. We have an exec meeting tomorrow morning in New York so we have to leave early in the morning. So you'll have to get a ride to school. I was told no more walking for you.
L: I know. They cut me off and Joe already said he would take me.
K: Hmm Joe wants to take you to school?
L: I know huh. Weird.
K:Come over when ever.
L: KK I'll bring junk food.
K: I'll tell Dani.
L: Love you.
K: Love you to Lid.
(End of convo)
"Hey mom?" I started sitting down on the swivle stool at the bar in the kitchen and started spining myself in circles.
"Hey daughter?" She answered back not looking up from her book.
"Can I sleep over at Kev's tonight?" I asked still spining around on the stool.
"Sure just make sure you finish your homework. And leave before dark, I don't want you walking in the dark got it?" She answered peering up from the page she was on.
"Thanks mom." I said standing up and holding my head in place while the room stoped spining. Stupid spinny stool. I gave here a kiss on the forehead and headed up to my room. Kev's house was like my home away from home. He had a weeks worth of my clothes in the spare bedroom closet, a toothbrush, and a few other things I would need staying at his house. I packed the necessities. I pod, lucky hoodie, phone (he has a spare charger too, random I know.), my lip gloss, and lastly my hidden supply of junk food. I was set. I stuffed everything in my school bag and headed downstairs.
"Hey mom where are the boys?!" I yelled half way down the stairs.
"Try the living room!" She yelled back from the oppisite side of the house.
"Thanks!" I continued down the stairs and into the living room where the boys were currently watching a riviting episode of only Lord knows what.
"Hey Joe. I'm sleeping over at Kev's house tonight. See you about 6:00?" I asked innocently knowing the early morning time would get back at him. I grined evily on the inside.
"6:00 am? Why so early. We ussually leave her around 6:30." He countered back annoyed I needed him up so early.
"I have to be at school early tomorrow and Kev's house is farther away and you know how traffic can get." It was only a small fiblet not a total lie.
"Fine. 6:00 am."
"Thanks. See you bright and early."
"You got it munchkin." He answered turning back to the TV.
"Bye I'm leaving!" I called out as I walked out the door.
