Escape Into The Night

DIN'S POV

Din strode past the fallen troopers towards the east portion of the base. With Cobb Vanth at his side, he was not entirely pleased with leaving Nia with Boba Fett. He's beginning to regret the conversations he had with both of them back at the ship. What the fuck was he thinking? However, it's too late now and he needs to concentrate on the mission.

The base itself was a maze with many winding tunnels and long passageways, but the two men continued planting explosives while taking out all troopers who got in their way. Using his helmet, Din could tell there was still about three dozen men left alive inside the base. All remaining troopers fired mercilessly at him, trying to hit vital organs, but all were protected by his indestructible armor. As Cobb covered him with his rifle, Din used his pistol to fire perfect head-shots to five troopers and an officer around a corner.

As they continued onwards down another hallway, Din takes out his rifle to disintegrate four more stormtroopers, while Cobb took out a few of his own as well. There was no longer a semblance of order and many troopers have now turned to hand combat since their blasters jammed. With Cobb using his rifle, Din takes out his spear to pierce one trooper in the head, kicked another's knee in as a loud crack is heard, and struck a third one so severe in the neck with the spear that he nearly decapitated him.

As a captain is heard barking orders to those who still had functional weapons, the rest of the stormtroopers continued firing shots chaotically in all directions. Gradually, the Imps began retreating back towards the main control room in the center of the base. Din had overheard the captain saying they needed to bring the communications back up.

"Let's plant more explosives over here," Din says as he sees roughly a dozen troopers dashing away from them in the opposite direction. However, as the two men continue their journey through the long corridors of the underground base, they both notice some troopers heading towards the main exit.

Finally, they come to the barracks chamber where they see a great number of cots lined up in rows, along with a side door that contained toilets and showers for the troopers. Across from the barracks they see a door that read 'guard tower' on the front. Obviously, this was where they were meant to meet up with Nia and Boba.

Once at the top, they get overwhelmed as a dozen more troopers were charging at them. As the Din and Cobb kicked and shot their way through, two shots are fired as they both suddenly get slammed backwards a few feet. While on the ground, they see a stormtrooper in red armor advancing towards them with a high-powered blaster rifle. With his ambian rifle in his arms, Din sat up to load his weapon before disintegrating the red-clad trooper before he had a chance to reload.

Once the two men got to their feet, the fighting had ended and dead troopers littered the ground on top of the mountain. As the blaster smoke cleared one thing became clear...where the hell is Boba and Nia??

NIA'S POV

She should have gone with Din, she thought to herself as they make their way towards the location of the specimens. Boba seemed to enjoy riling her up at every turn. All efforts she made to not respond to him has failed her. Since he was always right in her face when he's teasing her, it was nearly impossible to ignore him. Whenever she didn't react the way he wanted, he would yank at her sleeve or invade her space. It was obvious that he found the roughness and the bantering quite amusing. He was taking advantage of her inability to keep her fucking mouth shut when she was angry with him.

He took great pleasure in playing this dangerous game with her. It was thrilling to him, toying with her and finding ways to get under her skin. Since Din was not present, he searched for any opportunity to see how far she would go with him, how to get her to retaliate to his taunting, and it appeared he was having way too much fun in the midst of a battle. At one point, he got her so worked up that she pulled back her fist to throw a punch, but he was too quick and grabbed her hand as he released a thunderous laughter.
