(Freddie)
Deep in the haze of my consciousness. I find myself standing on waters darker than the blackest of nights and runs deeper than any ocean back home. The flow of magic hums around my ears and sweeps through the world in streams of misty blue. Something akin to hunger echoes in my core. It was my magical soul. Yearning and whispering to me deep in my mind. To absorb the energy around me and make it my own.
I ignore the faint calling and swing my head in both directions. I knew this place. This was the Invisible World Garadex once talked about. The realm in-between ours and the world of demons. A place only known to legends.
"About time you woke up, you slacker."
That voice...
I turn a curious head over my shoulder. To see the sight of someone I never thought I'll come face to face with. A red-haired boy with green eyes beaming with energy, dotted freckles across both cheeks, and he matched my height, but was a bit lankier than me, with a set of arms that drape past his waist.
He stares me head on. Flames blazing on his feet as his hair and clothes sways even in a world like this where wind doesn't exist.
"So we finally meet face to face." Alexis says, his smirk stayed glued on his face as his buries his hands in his jeans. "I guess you can call this a stroke of fate, or maybe you're just one lucky mofo. After all, you did survive death once, fought countless demons that should have ended you, and accomplished things far above your pay scale. It's like you're freak of nature when it comes to escaping death."
"I didn't come here to chit-chat." I say blandly. "And anyways," I turn my body until I was face to face with the spirit of Tammy's brother. "Why did you suddenly show up now? I don't ever recall summoning a ghost nor should there be any here of all places."
He chuckles and doubles over. Only rising to tell me once he regained his breathe. "Isn't it obvious, man? I'm your soulmate!"
I twist my eyebrows. "Say what now?"
Alexis points a finger my way. "It's me and you, amigo. That day you died was the day my soul mended with yours. It was the only way to bring you from the brink. So, it's only natural you gained my fire magic. Even though you're still a total noob at using it. You rely too much on brute force. Instead of blasting people away, you never thought once to be a bit...I dunno, on the flexible side when it comes to using your-no, our powers? Being creative can take you far in life you know?"
I cross my arms. "Screw being creative. As long as I'm burning demons to a crisp, I don't give a damn how it's done! And also, that's not explaining why you're here now. So start talking!"
Alexis scratches the back of his head. "Geez man, you're as feisty as your sister alright." He coughs into his hand. "Anyways, if you wanna know so badly, it was thanks to Small fry's Arrow of Sagittarius. Her power and magic triggered the other half of our soul, my half to be precise. Her magic created a spark in my own. It spoke to me and I suddenly remembered who I was, thus, I was able to emerge."
"Great. So now what? How do we break outta here?"
Alexis points again, only over my shoulder. "The answer's right over your shoulder. All you have to do is turn your head and let your eyes do it's job."
