"Stand up if you wanna live." A man's voice croaks.
I do as he says. Rising to full length. When in the corner of my eyes, I spot those same red glowing pupils. Along with that same scent that I used to love.
Alexis approaches the broken window. Palm flat and facing us, as a sphere of fire swirls to life, lighting up the living room in a pattern of dark and light. A ray of light shines to reveal us to Alexis.
His eyes land on the spider legs around my throat and harden. "Let. Her. Go."
Marco chuckles darkly. "Why would I? And besides fire boy, you might wanna put that flame out. Unless you wanna burn her and this whole house down with it."
Alexis face twists up in rage. So badly, he wanted to set the guy ablaze. And I don't blame him either. He ghosted me for three days and he shows up and pulls some crap like this?! If I could, I would use my magic myself to blow his ass to pieces!
Alexis slowly lowers his arm. Letting the flame die out in a hiss.
"What do you want?" He asked slowly, green eyes seemingly glowing under the dark hue of the living room.
"The book. Tell me where is it." Marco demands. He then tightens the legs around my neck in a squeeze that made my neck creak from the sheer strain. I couldn't help but let out a painful gasp for air. My chest seemed to be sucking in, begging my body for another inhale of precious air. "Or I'll choke the life outta her."
"Marco." I wheeze painfully, every word making my head pound, as my voice trails quieter and quieter. "Stop! You're...hurting me."
"Don't make me kill her." Marco warns darkly. His eyes fixed on Alexis. "Because I will if I have to. It's not like I have much of a choice anyways. Not when this world no longer has a future."
Alexis blinks. Then his expression forms into a harden sneer. "No longer has a future? What are you even saying? Who told you that nonsense to begin with!?"
"Someone like you wouldn't understand." Marco says. "Just know that if you think this will all end once Lord Ominga hits the bucket, then you guys are gonna be in a world of trouble."
"It sounds like you know someone far worse than him." Alexis says. He steps forward, taking one leg at a time and over the window pane. "Now you got me curious. Just what do you know. If you don't spill the beans now-"
"Or what?!" Marco lashes out. "You can't do jackshit in a situation like this! So, you can drop the hero act and learn to face reality! Tell me where the book is, or she dies!"
Alexis doesn't so much as blink an eye. Instead, he calmly crosses his arms over his chest. Now smiling with those gleaming eyes of his.
"What's so funny?" Marco sneers.
"You're talking mighty big. Talking about taking her life and all that. But ask yourself this," He points a finger his way. "Are you sure you can take her?"
