Hello MCYT Community! I'm back :)

I've taken quite a big break from writing in general to focus and school and all that shit and honestly, there has been a whole bunch of stuff going on like my life is currently drama central lmao. I mean I got asked out by the best friend of the person I'm talking to, got rejected by a girl from my work, my psychology teacher hates me for no reason and my English class have a religion around me. It's been an interesting few months. But regardless, I'm back, because I've missed writing quite a bit. So, nice to "see" you all again.

Here to do what I do best, and write pure angst >:)

MCYT: Eret/Wilbur

SMP or AU: Dream SMP (L'manberg - Pogtopia era)

Type: Angst, hurt/comfort-ish

Pronouns: They/Them

Notes: Y/N = your name

Premise: Based on the song The Other Side of Paradise by Glass Animals, telling the story of your betrayal by the two people you loved the most (Also inspired by an animatic idea I had for the same song, but I'm not talented enough to make it myself)

Trigger warnings: Mentions of death, injury description, generic sadness and swearing (Can we just agree all of my oneshots have swearing at this point? Because I swear way too much irl)

Y/N's POV

When I was young and stupid my love

"You'll see me again soon," He'd murmured with such reassurance, such confidence. Why would I have grounds to argue? I trusted Eret as I had never trusted another. I hadn't wanted him to leave, but his mind was made up.

Left to be a rock and roll star

He was leaving to fight tyranny. A noble cause, and one that resonated with me. The state of L'manberg and its fight for independence had been widespread news for a while, as had the tales of Dream.

He told me, "Please don't worry"

There was so much faith as he spoke, eyes lingering on mine as he stood by the door. There was a ghost of regret on his face, as if he couldn't quite bring himself to leave in the final moment.

Wise little smile that spoke so safely

Then he just smiled, a sorrowful gesture that made my heart flutter and sink. A final press of his lips to mine before he departed.

He booked a one way ticket

I think we both knew there may be no coming back.

Out west, that's where they'd make it

So I decided to go with him. I followed from a little behind, trailing carefully. If these were to be our last days, I only wished to spend them together.

Six kids stuck in a bedsit

And so five became six; Wilbur, Tommy, Tubbo, Fundy, Eret and I. He took my arrival better than expected, as if he somehow knew I couldn't stay away and would materialise soon enough.

To sunswept poolside riches

And for a while, we were happy. We got through tough times with laughter and joy, the camaraderie we shared more powerful than any weapon we'd been trained to wield.

He met a girl who wore Versace

Then Dream came.
