READ THE LAST CHAPTER WITH THE EXPLANATION IF YOU DIDN'T ALREADY OR THIS WON'T MAKE SENSE.

MCYT: Various, part one is mostly Grian/Xisuma-centric but mainly just world building (I forgot to say in the explanation, there's no romance between Y/N and anyone in this mini-series)

SMP or AU: Multiverse AU (That's what I'm gonna call this lol)

Type: Wholesome, platonic, angst elements

Pronouns: She/Her

Notes: Y/N = your name. Extra info: while this mini-series has no mention of Third Life or its Canon, I'm keeping Jimmy and Scott as - platonic - husbands because their dynamic is literally the best and also I sorta need it for a bit of context. (REMEMBER TO SHIP THE CHARACTERS NOT THE ACTUAL CCs :D)

Premise: Hermitcraft Season Six begins, and information about your missing brother arrives in the form of an old friend.

Trigger warnings: Swearing, very long, lots of blocky dialogue (I'm sorry, but it needed to be done, if only in this chapter)

Y/N's POV

"Welcome to Season Six of Hermitcraft!" I didn't raise my head as the admin began to speak, preferring to stare at my shoes, feeling a little out of place. By all rights, I was. "You all know the drill by now, but before we get started, we have two new-comers this year. Let me introduce Y/N and Grian." There were some brief greetings following Xisuma's introduction. I still didn't look up.

"Hello!" The voice that said this came from right next to me, and I made the assumption this was Grian. His tone was bubbly and excited, the absolute opposite to me. I mumbled a little, shifting weight from foot to foot.

"I say we don't delay. With that said, let Season Six begin!" I saw the crowds start to disperse through my peripheral vision. I wanted to wait until they were all gone before I made my move, trying not to attract attention to myself. I knew all about Hermitcraft, its prestige and skill. I glanced down at my communicator, flicking down to check the members list. That's... A lot of people.

I really didn't belong here.

"Y/N, was it?" I jumped with a start, not expecting the sudden voice. Nearly dropping my communicator as I attached it to my wrist, I looked up for the first time, recognising the tonality as Grian's voice.

The first thing I noticed was that he was an avian. There were a pair of bright-white wings protruding from his back, silky feathers rustling gently in the breeze. Comically, the next thing that caught my attention was how short he was. The sleeves of his scarlet sweater came past his hands, so the fabric was balled up in his fists as he clutched it. His look was finished off with a mop of straight, sandy-blond hair and a pair of black-rimmed glasses perched on his nose. He exuberanted innocence, but I noted the mischievous quality in his eyes.

After getting a good look at the other new guy, I remembered he'd spoken to me, and I clamoured to reply.

"Oh, yes, sorry, that's me. You're Grian?" I queried on the end of the awkward exchange.

"Yup!" He grinned happily, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "So, we're the newbies, huh?"

"I guess so." I shrugged, not really sure what to make of his full-on attitude. I was still a little wary of people (that's what happens when you spend a year on an Anarchy server), but this guy seemed genuine.

"You thought about where you want to build your base yet? I was thinking the Futuristic District since that's not a style I'm used to and I want to step out of my comfort zone-" He began to ramble. I could tell already he was incredibly passionate about what he did, clearly excited to be here.
