"Maya, you need to be resting," Carina said as she walked into the kitchen where Maya was cooking.

"I'm just making pancakes," Maya said, coughing a little.

"You have barely been home from the hospital for five days," Carina sighed, "You need to rest, save your energy to get better."

"I need to be doing something," Maya said, "I feel like I'm going crazy resting all the time. I can't concentrate on anything and I just feel anxious and like I have all this energy even though I'm exhausted."

Carina knew Maya was struggling, but she was also worried she was going to make her recovery harder by not resting. She sat down at the counter, watching Maya cook.

As the blonde turned to put a pancake on the plate she had out, she stumbled a little, Carina jumping up to help.

"You alright?" Carina asked as she steadied her.

"Just got a little dizzy," Maya said, not fighting Carina's arms, telling the doctor she was not ok.

"How about you go sit down and I will finish these?" Carina suggested softly.

"I...ok," Maya agreed, head still not feeling right.

Carina smiled at her, helping her to the table, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"Do you want anything else?" Carina asked as she put the plate down for Maya.

"Maybe some water?" Maya asked, picking up her fork.

"Of course," Carina nodded, going into the kitchen and grabbing a cup, bringing it back to the table only to find her girlfriend with tears in her eyes.

"Bambina, what's wrong?" Carina asked, going to her quickly.

"These don't taste good," Maya said, trying really hard not to start sobbing, "I just wanted some pancakes, and I knew I couldn't taste them, but the texture sucks and I just don't want to feel like this anymore."

"I know," Carina said, wrapping her arms around her girlfriend as Maya cried, "It will get better."

Vic walked out of her room as Maya was crying, giving Carina a concerned look. The Italian just shook her head a little and Vic went back into her room, knowing Maya didn't like people seeing her like this. It took a few minutes, but Maya managed to calm down.

"Bene?" Carina asked softly, handing Maya a tissue.

"Yeah," Maya sniffled, "Sorry."

"No apologizing," Carina said gently, shaking her head, "All of this is a lot to deal with. Now, can I get you something else to eat?"

"I think I just want to go to bed," Maya said, "I'm exhausted again."

"Ok," Carina nodded, helping her up and into their room, "Do you want me to stay?"

"You don't have to," Maya shrugged.

"That was not my question," Carina said, shaking her head.

"Will you?" Maya said, looking up at her with sleepy eyes, "Just until I fall asleep?"

"Of course," Carina nodded, climbing in next to Maya.

"Sorry I pushed so hard to make breakfast," Maya said, rolling over to look at Carina.

"I know you are frustrated with your body and your recovery," Carina said, wrapping an arm around her girlfriend, "But your body went through an incredibly taxing fight that is going to take as long as it takes to recover from, and you are allowed to be frustrated and angry about it, but you cannot fight your body or it is going to fight back and make it harder."
