Has it been like 8 months since I updated this story? Yes.  Have I had this idea for like 3 months and just haven't written it? Also yes.  But better late then never!

As Carina expected, Christmas day was a little rough for her girlfriend, the Italian waking up to find Maya still sound asleep and too warm.

Carina got up and made breakfast for herself and Vic, the younger firefighter planning to spend the morning with Maya and Carina and the afternoon with Travis after he got some sleep.

Carina made panettone, the breakfast her mamma made when they were growing up every Christmas. Vic completely loved it and the two of them enjoyed a quiet morning together while Maya slept, the blonde stumbling out of the bedroom around 10 am, hair sticking out in multiple directions, face slightly flushed.

"Buon Natale Bambina," Carina said as she stood up, Maya all but falling into her arms.

"Merry Christmas," Maya mumbled, burying her head in Carina's neck, "I don't feel good."

"Lo so," Carina said, rubbing Maya's back, "You have a fever. How about I get you some tea and Tylenol and we can go cuddle on the couch."

Maya nodded, holding onto her wife for one more minute before letting go.

"Merry Christmas Mai," Vic said as her friend walked past her.

"Merry Christmas," Maya said, offering a small smile, "How are you today?"

"Better than you," Vic said as Maya walked over to the couch, Vic draping a blanket over her, "I actually feel ok."

"Here you go Bambina," Carina said, coming over to the couch with a glass of water and some Tylenol, "Take these. Can I get you anything to eat? I made panettone, but I can also get you a shake or whatever you want."

"I'm not really hungry," Maya said, shaking her head, "At least not yet."

"Ok," Carina nodded, "Let me go get your tea and I'll be right back, ok?"

Maya nodded as she took the Tylenol, hoping it would help the achiness in her body dull down a little. Soon enough, Carina was back, Maya immediately crawling into her arms.

"I have gifts for you both," Vic said, coming back from her room, "Nothing big, but just things I thought you both could use."

"You didn't have to do that Vic," Maya said as she sat up a little, taking the box from Vic.

"I wanted to," Vic shrugged.

"Go under the tree," Carina said, pointing to the small Christmas tree they had set up one day when Maya was feeling well enough to help, "There is something from us under there."

Vic scurried over to the tree, finding her gift before going back to where Maya and Carina were, sitting down in the comfy chair next to the couch.

"You guys first," Vic said. Carina opened her box, finding a new apron and a new set of espresso cups.

"Grazie Vic," Carina smiled, examining the cup, "These are beautiful. Thank you."

"You're welcome," Vic smiled, "Maya, your turn."

The blonde opened her box, smiling as she pulled out a blanket with the Station 19 logo on it along with a travel mug, also with the station 19 logo on it with the word "Captain" under it.

"Because I'm hoping you will be back to work and in need of a new travel cup soon," Vic explained, "Those were my gifts for everyone at the station this year."
