"Who is she?" I asked and turned back to face Ethan. "Her names Emily and she's sort of my x-girlfriend" He said making me confused.  "Sort of?" I asked. "We never officially broke up" He said and rubbed his neck looking at the ground. "Oh" I simply said. What else was I supposed to say? That's great? "What happened between you to that made you not officially break up?" I asked. Yes I know I was being nosey but I couldn't help myself. "She moved to DC and we lost contact" He said and my gut fell. They could still be together right now if they had stayed in contact. "Im sorry I didn't tell you" He spoke making me look up at him. I didn't know what to say or do. I just stood there staring at him. I knew I had to say something and before I could even think of what to say something just randomly came out.

"We've only known each other for like 2 weeks, that's not enough time to tell someone something like that" I said and wanted to smack myself. The way he reacted to what I had said gave me the worst feeling. He looked sad and ashamed which only made me feel worse. I had to leave before I made this even worse and hurt his feelings anymore. I darted out of the room and down the stairs. "Hey sweetheart, I hope you don't mind but I invited over the new family that just moved in down the road" My mother said and Emily walked around the corner. I really couldn't handle this right now. "Where's Cameron?" I asked my mom but heard a grunt from the living room and knew it was her. "Cam I'm going to the park, are you coming?" I asked.

"Take Emily with you" My mom suggested. "No mom, its my birthday and Im having a bad day" I sassed and she nodded. Cam jumped over the couch and walked over beside me chewing what I believe to be popcorn. I grabbed her wrist and pulled her outside. "Were you not going to tell me about Emily and Ethan?" I asked as we begun walking to the park. "I totally forgot about her until she was in your house, im sorry" She said and I just nodded. "I think Ethan and I just fought" I said and she hugged me. "Do you think I have a chance with him with the whole Emily thing?" I asked and Cameron turned to me. "I really don't know.. but I will always be here for you" Cam spoke and I thanked he pulling her into a hug.

It kind of bugged me that Cameron didn't know but I knew I would get by even if I weren't with Ethan anymore. "Do you want to head back? Are you okay?" Cam asked and I nodded turning back around. When we reached my house and walked in Emily was leaving which couldn't have made me happier. My mom seemed to be nowhere in sight. "You know, you should stay away from Ethan" Emily spoke and Cam just looked at her like she was crazy. I couldn't help but do the same as Cameron. "Ethan is mine and only mine. So back off" she spoke getting a little bit louder. She walked out the front door and I stood there frozen. How was I supposed to react to this? Stop talking to Ethan? Confront him about it? Ignore Emily? I really had no idea.

"We need to tell Ethan" Cameron spoke and I just stood there still trying to process what had just happened. Before I could even say anything I was pulled up the stairs and into my gaming room where the twins were playing monopoly waiting for us to get back. "Im sorry.." Ethan started but Cameron interrupted. "Emily threatened Delilah". Ethan stood there and shook his head. "She's too nice, I don't believe that". He spoke and I looked down at the ground. She had him wrapped around her finger. I don't want to get hurt. Maybe I could just hang low and avoid him like she wanted. Everyone would be happier and maybe he could see her for her true self without me intervening. This was the worst birthday ever.

"Hey Gray" I spoke as I sat down beside him. "Hey birthday girl" He spoke making me smile a little. This kid could always make me smile. "You know believe you about Emily" Grayson whispered making me smile even wider. "She never was that nice". "Why cant he just believe me?" I asked and Grayson hugged me tightly. I couldn't just forget about Ethan in one day. I really did like him even if he didn't like me. I needed to break off what little things I had with Ethan before I get even more hurt. "Thanks Gray" I said before standing up and walking over to Ethan who was smiling down at his phone. I looked down at his phone and of coarse he was texting her.

"Hey Ethan" I whispered and squatted so I was at eyelevel with him. "I think we should just be friends, clearly you still love her" I said and the room went silent. He put his phone down and looked at me. He looked apologetic which really broke me inside. I thought maybe he would say he didn't love her anymore but he didn't. The only words he said were "Im sorry" Before he ran out the house after Emily. I fully broke down crying right there and then. Maybe it was because I thought he liked me. "Hey don't cry" Grayson said and scooped me up hugging me tightly. "Where's Cameron?" I asked as he brought me to my room. "She left" I nodded and Grayson put me down. "I have to go" Grayson said looking down at his phone. I nodded and hugged him before he walked out of my room and house.

I quickly changed into pajamas and put my hair up. I climbed into bed and just layed there emotionless. It was like my heart had broken into a million pieces. Yes I had only known Ethan for a little amount of time but I really did like him. A lot. I closed my eyes trying not to cry and somehow I fell asleep.
