Being in class, you couldn't help but think about what Aether said the other day. Speaking of the other day, the moment you finished the meeting, you went back to the garden, seeking answers only to see the Miko was nowhere to be found. The garden was still... 'lifeless'. Assuming that maybe she was just in shock, you came back to your room confused and sad.

You accidentally sigh loudly, getting the attention of the teacher in front who was now staring at you with cold but worried eyes. Thankfully it was self-study time so, she shouldn't get too mad at you. She would immediately send you to detention if you did it while she was discussing so, you were very lucky.

"You shouldn't get too distracted in class, dear." She says, approaching you very casually as she stares down at you. You felt incredibly intimidated that you almost just wanted to run away the moment you saw her approaching you.

"Ah, my apologies, Lady Signora." You say, trying to sound as calm as possible, but also respectful and professional. One of her eyebrows raise, seemingly observing you intently and questionably.

"...Is something keeping you up? You look rather tired." She asks, noticing the bags under your eyes from staying up late due to the fact that Miko, and this place being a previous battlefield, was keeping you quite preoccupied in thinking.

"It's just mindless thinking. I'll be fine after a few breaks." You tell her, flashing a sweet and cheery smile as she then sighs, assumingly giving up on trying to lecture or correct you.

"I hope so. With the tests coming soon, a student should be prepared for it." She says, soon walking back to her seat. You nod in reply, bearing great enthusiasm even though inside, you were still distracted a lot.

Honestly, who wouldn't? After seeing such a thing happen, who wouldn't think about it? It was something that only happened in those paranormal movies so, you never thought twice about it. Seeing it happen in person... now that's quite different.

What is Miko in the first place? Is she really only a human that got bound in a specific place? Or is she simply lying as to not gather anymore of your attention? You really wanted to know but, if she was hiding it from you, then she was probably hiding it for a good reason.

It could be some sort of traumatic experience, a horrible memory that she's long forgotten, or simply something you don't need to know at all. Either way, you really wanted to help her. But what was bothering you the most was... the fact that she just disappeared as soon as you heard Aether's voice.
