"That... surprised me." You say, exhaling slowly, talking about the way she just casually said your name out of nowhere even though she was always calling you by a nickname. She looks surprised but then laughs heartily.
"Why? Didn't it feel like the right mood to do so?" She says, her smile being so bright that you could feel yourself blushing but, she then flashes a loving smirk, almost as if she was... teasing you happily.
"W-when you say it like that... it sounds a bit..." You stutter, a little embarrassed of being laughed at but also getting a lot of wrong ideas that you shouldn't be getting from someone so mysterious like her.
"Hmm~? Like what, kitten~? Feel free to tell me what exactly it is~." She says, nudging your arm with her elbow as she smirks.
"No..!" You blush, a little shaky as she continues to laugh out loud. Despite being literally mocked, the sound of the laugh coming out of her was so comforting and nice to hear that it honestly makes you want to keep making her tease you.
"It really is fun teasing you. You really do have the best reactions I've ever seen." She says, sighing happily before leaning on the bark of the tree.
"You must not have met a lot of people if you think I'm the best." You say, also leaning your back and making yourself comfortable.
"Come on, don't be like that. There's plenty of good things about you." She says, once again nudging your arm as if she was saying that it was so obvious that you don't even have to say it.
All of these interactions were making you happy but... how long is it going to last? It's quite clear that she'll get bored if it's the same thing over and over again everyday. Going to the garden to talk, her waiting for you at the entrance, teasing you and talking about each other's day, but isn't all that so repetitive?
Besides, you have your own dreams you'd like to achieve as well as getting a good job out there. It's not like you don't want to keep being friends with her but, the future coming at both of you at incredibly high speeds are making you anxious and worried.
"Say... Miko..." You catch her attention, still debating in whether or not you'd want to ask her this specific question. Isn't it a bit too personal to just ask? What if she continues to hide it or what if she rejects your suggestions? The fear of all the 'what ifs' coming into your mind is making you stop.
