After school, Dean went home with Henry and Ashton, who lived across the street. "You live in that house?" Henry asked. «Yes, but only for 2 months. My brother lives here with his wife and his best friend." Dean explained. "And what about your parents?" Ashton asked. "I never met my dad and my mom wasn't really interested in me. She often locked me in my room and went out with her new boyfriend." Dean said. "I have to go home now; we're flying to the Caribbean this afternoon." Ashton said. "Cool, we're going to Bali. What about you? What are you doing during summer?" Henry asked. "I think I'll stay in Chicago. My brother's a firefighter and I don't think he can just take a summer vacation like that." Dean said. "Your brother's a firefighter, that's cool." Henry said. "But you can have a good time in Chicago, too," Ashton said. «Yes. But I'd like to go on vacation." Dean said. "What would be your dream vacation destination?" Ashton asked. "If I had to decide today where I want to go on vacation, I would like to go to Los Angeles." Dean said. "And why Los Angeles?" Henry asked. "I've always wanted to go there." Dean said. «Well, the summer breaks last 3 months. Who knows what else will happen?" Henry said. "Yeah, but I think they're up to something, because my brother said there's a surprise waiting for me when I get home from school." Dean said. "Well then, we won't keep you much longer. I'll see you after summer." Henry said. "Yes, enjoy your summer." Dean said and everyone went home in different directions.

"Hi, I'm ho...me." Dean said as he walked in and saw the suitcases and bags in the entryway. "Oh hey, are you home already?" Shay asked in surprise, looking at her watch. "Yes, it's the last day of school. School is always over at 11 a.m." Dean said. "How was it?" Shay asked. "Okay, but what's going on here? Do we have to move now?" Dean asked, putting down his school bag. At that moment, Kelly came upstairs. «Oh, hey big one. How was it?" Kelly asked. "Good, I've already made new friends. They asked me if I wanted to be in their gang." Dean said. "I'm glad you found friends. And do you like school too?" Kelly asked. Dean nodded. "Well, then we probably owe you an explanation." Kelly said and knelt down to Dean. "Do we have to move out?" Dean asked. "What? No, Don 't worry. But we figured after everything that's happened, a vacation would be good for us." Kelly said. "We're going on vacation?" Dean asked excitedly. "Yeah." Kelly said. "Yay, thanks." Dean said and hugged Kelly. "You're welcome." Kelly smiled. «I have to pack." Dean said and ran excitedly upstairs to his room. "If you have any clothes that need washing, bring them downstairs." Kelly called up. Dean came downstairs with a pile of clothes in his arms and dropped them on the floor. "Are you stashing your dirty laundry upstairs or what?" Kelly asked, picking up the clothes. Dean grinned at his brother. "Where are we going?" he asked. Kelly, Stella and Shay looked at each other. "Surprise?" Dean asked. "No, we're going to Los Angeles." Kelly smiled. "Did you hear me?" Dean asked. "Why?" Shay asked. "Two of my new friends live down the road, and on the way home, we talked about what we're doing during summer and they asked me what my dream destination is and I told them I'd like to go to Los Angeles." Dean said. "Well, that's fine then." Kelly laughed. "But don't you have to work?" Dean asked. "No, we're on vacation." Stella said. "How long are we going?" Dean asked. "We'll be home a week before school starts." Kelly said. Dean's eyes lit up. 'All right, I'll take your dirty laundry downstairs and you go upstairs and pack. I'll come up later and help you." Kelly said. "Ok." Dean said and ran back upstairs.
