The next morning Dean was woken up by Kelly."Good morning, buddy." Kelly said, turning on the light. Deangroaned, turned and pulled the covers over his head. "Come on, you'regoing to be late for school otherwise." Kelly said, pulling the covers offhim again. Dean sat up, stretched, and yawned. Kelly pulled up the blinds andput Dean's clothes over the bed rail. "Didn't you sleep well?" Kellyasked. Dean rubbed his eyes and shook his head. "Hey, what's goingon?" Kelly asked, patting Dean's back. Dean sat down on the loft bed stairsand stretched out his arms. Kelly smiled and hugged him. "What's thematter?" Kelly asked. "I want to stay with you." Dean whispered.«Listen, you know that this is not possible, but I promise you that I will comeand pick you up after school and take you to the station. We're getting newgear today to test, what do you say?" Kelly asked. Dean rubbed his eyes andnodded. "All right, get dressed now and then you come down forbreakfast." Kelly smiled, kissed him on the cheek and left the room. Deangot dressed and went downstairs to the kitchen. Kelly was just about to prepareDean's lunch box and Stella gave him a bowl of cornflakes. "Good morning,did you sleep well?" Stella asked. Dean shrugged and ate his breakfast. Afterbreakfast, Dean got ready for school. "I'll see you at the station."Kelly said. "Yes, see you later and have fun at school." Shay andStella said. Kelly drove Dean to school and then to work at Firehouse 51. Afterthe morning briefing, Chief Boden called Kelly into his office. "You wantedto see me, Chief?" Kelly asked. "Severide, yes, come in." Bodensaid, taking off his glasses. "What's this about?" Kelly asked."I just wanted to know how things are going, has the little one settledin?" the chief asked. "It takes time for Dean to process theexperience, but we are on the right track." Kelly said. "Glad to hearand you know, if we can do anything for you, let me know." Boden said."Yes, thank you Chief." Kelly said and was about to leave the officewhen a call came in. "To all units, school fire, 615 W Kemper PI" wasthe address of the location. Kelly turned to his chief. "What's goingon?" Boden asked. "That's the address of Dean's school." Kellysaid. "Then what are we waiting for, let's go." Boden said and thetwo ran into the vehicle hangar, where the others were just getting ready."Kelly." Stella said with a concerned look as Kelly walked into thevehicle hangar. He looked at her and then got into the rescue truck. Once atthe school, children were still running out of the building. Kelly couldn't seehis brother anywhere. «Squad and Truck, you go in and evacuate the building,Herrmann, set up the water supply, 61, take care of the injured, support is onthe way» Boden gave the orders and everyone went to work. Truck 81 evacuatedthe lower floors and Squad 3 evacuated the upper floors. "Fire Dept. ishere anyone!" the firefighters shouted. When Squad evacuated the upper floors,they went outside. "Any news from Dean?" Kelly asked his chief whenhe was still nowhere to see Dean. Boden shook his head. Kelly nervously stoodon the spot and looked at the flaming inferno. Meanwhile Truck 81 is stillinside looking for students. "Fire Dept. is here anyone!" Otis shouted."Hello, can anyone hear us!" Stella shouted, looking together withOtis. "Stella, let's keep searching downstairs, Captain, Stella and I willkeep searching downstairs." Otis said over the radio. "Got it, Otis,be careful." Casey said. Otis and Stella went downstairs and searchedeverything. "Fire Dept. is here anyone!" Stella shouted. "Stella,come here quickly, I've found him!" Otis suddenly shouted. When Stellacame to Otis, he was in the process of resuscitating Dean. "What abouthim?" Stella asked, kneeling down. "I didn't feel a pulse" Otissaid. Stella took another deep breath, took off her breathing mask and put iton Dean's face. "Come on Dean, breathe." she said. She put the maskback on and picked up her radio. "Chief, we found him." Stella said."How is he?" Boden asked. Stella and Otis looked at each other."He's not breathing." Stella said. Otis and Stella swapped places andOtis put his mask on Dean's face. Suddenly the ceiling gave way and collapsed.Stella and Otis lay down protectively over Dean. "Chief, we have aproblem, part of the ceiling has collapsed and now our escape route is blocked."Stella said over the radio. "Chief, we heard, Stella, we're coming to you."Casey said. "Copy that, Captain." Stella said.
