Hey guys I'm back! Sorry for taking so long to write another part I've been a bit busy but enjoy :)
"Come one Y/n you have to talk about him at some point!" Darcey shouted over the dressing room door. "Look, I don't want to talk about him today ok? I want to focus on me for once." We had been shopping all day at a small boutique for a dress that according to Darcey had to scream "available"-somehow she had convinced me to go to a bar with her because I 'needed a little action'. I struggled to reach the zipper on the back of the dress Darcey had picked out for me. "You ready?" I glanced at the mirror for a second and with one big sigh I stepped out of the changing room and into Darcey's view. The dress she had insisted on me trying was black and had a soft, velvet material with a ruched sweetheart neckline.
Her hands clasped together in excitement. "Cute and sexy" she stood up out of her seat and played around with the dress on my body until it looked just right. "It's perfect Y/n." I couldn't really hear what she was saying all I could focus on was the fact that just a couple months ago I found out the most devastating thing I could possibly imagine and now I was shopping for the perfect dress to impress some random guy at a bar who, if I'm being honest, doesn't matter to me in the slightest. I quickly pushed the thought to the back of my mind and refocused on Darcey- who must've noticed something was wrong. She sighed and tucked a piece of hair behind my ear. "Do you like it, Y/n?" She gave my hand a tight squeeze. I didn't really care for the dress but if it's what makes Darcey happy then so be it. "I love it."
~5 hours later~
I sat at the beauty table in Darcey's cute apartment above the coffee shop. I checked the time on the clock on the wall: 8:11. I don't know why but I had a nervous tingling in my stomach whilst Darcey applied her 'signature' red lipstick to my lips and smiled proudly to herself. "Pucker up" I did as I was told, rubbing my lips together a couple times. "You look sexy, he really missed out- I mean I- ugh I'm sorry Y/n" I chuckled lightly and turned to face Darcey. "How many times do I have to tell you, you can say his name. it doesn't affect me." I tried to make that sentence sound as confident as I could but of course she gave me that look- the look where she doesn't really believe what I'm saying is true but would rather not speak on the matter in case it made me upset. I hate that look.
Winter was approaching and It was starting to get darker outside earlier than usual. The air was crisp so I grabbed my black puffer jacket of the hook by the door and headed towards the bar with Darcey. A small ding rang through the air when I opened the bar door and stepped into the warm room filled with light and loud voices over the relaxing music coming form the juke box in the corner. I have to say it was a nice bar- inviting to say the least, but amongst the crowd of people I noticed in the corner of the room, a tall, lively figure glowing under the mellow lights.
I couldn't take my eyes off him. One small look was just enough for me to forget about everything and everyone.
