Lena's pov

It's been a week since what happened and everything has been going fine. I've spent half of them with Vinnie and half with Gigi. Larray said he will text us when he's a bit less busy, so we can hang out like the first days. Today I have plans though, including Vinnie.

"Larray just texted me, he said he's finally free. So we can come over!" Gigi informs me very excitedly.

"Oh, that's great. But I told Vinnie I'm coming over today." I say as a sip my tea. I look into my cup of tea to avoid making eye contact with her. She doesn't yet know about what Vinnie and I did. And it has to stay that way. As bad as it makes me sound, I don't think I can just stop whatever is going on between Vinnie and I. I know I'm going against everyone, but this is my life, so I choose.

"Okay and?? You've literally seen him everyday. It's been a while since we saw Larray, Mario, and Ravon. Plus, Nailea has returned from Texas, so she's also at Larray's. We're going." Gigi says and walks away. I roll my eyes.

"Ok, so can he come with us?" I yell loud enough for her to hear me.

"Ugh, fine!"

"I love you." I yell once again. She doesn't reply. I just laugh it off and keep on watching tv, lying on the couch. And that's when my mom calls.

"Hello mommy!"

"Lena, you didn't call me yesterday. Why?" She asks. She sounds more worried than angry.

"Mom, I'm fine." I laugh. "I'm sorry, I was busy the whole day."

"And the day before?"

"Also."

Why don't you tell her what you were busy doing?

My subconscious ask. I bluntly ignore the tiny voice in my head. My mom would be disappointed, not because of any dumb promise, but because she doesn't want me dating till I'm done with uni. The time she found out I was dating someone, she had me call him right in front of her and break up with him. Not that I minded though. He was very toxic and I just didn't have the courage to tell him I didn't want to be with him anymore. She then grounded me for a month. Gigi and I couldn't meet after school, or even call each other for the whole month. It was the worst. That is one of the factors that contributed into the promise Gigi and I had.

"Ok." She sighs. " Well, how are you? I assume you're fine."

"Why?" I laugh.

"Because if you weren't fine, you would have since called me." She replies.

"True. I'm sorry." I laugh. I always turn to my mom when something's wrong. Except when it has to do with boys.

"Whatever. Milani has made new friends anyways. Since you have refused to be her friend."

"Don't gaslight me!"

"But it's true. When was the last time you called her?"

"A few days ago. Look, doesn't she get to come too USA this year for like work experience or something like that?" I say casually, like I'm not trying to do something. Mimi begged me to convince mom to let her come to US for the school trip. Mom never let Esme and I go, but since I'm here, Mimi could stay with me.

"Lena, you know she's not going. Don't even try." She chuckles at my attempt.

"But then we get to see each other and I'm already missing her."

"You're doing a really awful job at showing it."

Dammit.

"Oh and dad says hi." She randomly says. I don't get to talk to him much, because of the time zones and his working hours.
