"You can come over Christmas holiday." I suggest

"Nah, it's way easier if you come over. I would have to do the whole visa stuff."

"But there is literally no fun in that. I've seen home like then thousand times, you have to get to know my new friends, my apartment, just LA in all."

"But you would have to come back home either way! Or don't you want to see mom and dad? And even if you don't, they will force you. So there is no point in me coming there for a week and then coming back with you for a week." Esme replies.

"There is actually a point in that but ok, whatever. I didn't really want you here anyways."

"You're such a kid." Esme laughs at me. "Anyways, excited for uni???" She sounds so excited, as if it was her starting uni.

"Yeah sure!!!" I say very excitedly, being sarcastic of course and I can nearly see her roll her eyes.

"When are you starting anyways? Two days?"

"Three actually. On Monday. Ugh, I'm already tired." The thought of it just stresses me.

"Oh come on! It's fun, I promise. And I know you will adore psychology." Esme's major is psychology, just like me, and she minors in like business, economy, sociology or something like that.

"I know I will. It's not really the subjects, it's the... I don't know, but it stresses me." I reply.

"Lena-"

"Someone commented under my last post that Leilani would have been such a better name for me. So you may no longer refer me as Lena: I'm changing my name!" I say excitedly. Esme knows I've wanted to change my name since I was a kid. But no matter how many times I begged my parents, they never agreed. But even though I don't like it, I would never actually change it, but I joke about it all the time with Esme. And she knows I'm not serious.

"Yeah sure, you should change it to Leiana." She laughs at me.

"Ugh! Don't. Remind. Me." I shake my head. "I have trauma from that name."

"You had everyone call you Leiana!" She laughs harder.

"I was convinced it sounded better!" I defend myself, laughing because of Esme's laugh. "Honestly I would rather be called anything over that!"

"I know!" She laughs. "But I think now you can appreciate your name. Am I right, Leilena?" I know the smile she's making right now.

"Yes, I do, Esmeralda." I tease her. She also doesn't like her full name, but she loves Esme.

"Honestly, mom and dad tried too hard trying to give us unique names." Esme replies.

"Milani got really lucky." I sigh.

"Yeah. I can't believe she still has people call her Mimi."

"I know right?!"

Milani decided to give herself a nickname, Mimi, because me and Esme had nicknames. But being the toddler she was, she didn't understand that it's because our names are not it.

"I think she's just too proud to admit that Mimi is actually not it. And nothing will make me ever call her that." Esme replies.

"Nah. I, being the good and respectful human that I am, call her how she like to be called."

"Yeah sure. I'm helping her, you on the other hand are causing her future problems." She replies. "Anyways, I've got to go now. I have a to meet with a friend."

"Or you're just tired of talking with me."

"Damn, you caught me."

"You could have just told me instead of letting me find out like this." I play the victim.
