Billie's Pov-

Incoming Call: Jessie<3

Me: What are you doing up at this hour, love?

Jess: I was lonely and I hadn't called you up in a while.

I laughed into the phone, her statement causing butterflies to arise in my stomach.

Me: Well Hi. How's everything going? You haven't kept in touch with me as you promised.

Jess: Sorry, I've been too busy with Addy to do much of anything lately.

Me: I think you should come over tomorrow, or I can come there, I wanna see your place.

Jess: Well, I don't have work tomorrow, and Addy's gonna be in school, so if you wanna stop by around ten tomorrow morning, we might be able to chill then.

Jess's voice was hot, I'm just gonna state that now. I could hear her talk about the most random shit and still fucking drool over how she sounded. And seeing as we talked at around like 3 AM, her voice was raspy and tired. UGH.

I chuckled and nodded my head, even though she couldn't see.

Me: Bet. Go sleep babe, you sound tired

Jess: Fiiine. You too, Bil. I love you, don't forget. It's been a while since I've said that, and I just wanted to assure you that my love hasn't gone anywhere.

Did she love me? Still, after all the shit I did, and the shit we went through, she still loved me? Awww.

Me: I love you, Jess. Goodnight love.

-Line Cuts-

What was it with her? She simply says one phrase and I'm back to feeling shit for her that's illegal to feel for my best friend.

Happily, though, I went to sleep, maybe seeing her in my dreams. That's what I hoped for.

* * * *

I pulled into the parking garage of the apartment complex that Jess lived in. I kept my head down and threw on a hat and sunglasses so I had less of a chance of being seen, that's the only reason I didn't want to leave my house anymore.

Once I had gotten up to her floor, I searched for her room number. When I spotted it I hesitated before knocking.

Was it too soon? What if she wasn't ready to see me? What if there was a guy or another girl in there? Did I dress okay? Wait, did I overdress? Shit, did I underdress? Was Jess even there, or was she gone? If I knock and she opens the door and then I say the wrong thing, will that ruin it? Should I kiss her?

"Are you gonna keep standing at my door like some bozo, or are you gonna knock?" Jess said from behind her door. FUCK. THE PEEPHOLE.

"Shit, sorry, I was just waiting a second before knocking...it's something I've picked up recently..."

I heard Jess laugh at my sentence and then she managed to open the door. God, she looked good.

"Get your ass in here," She demanded, yanking at the bottom of my shirt, pulling me into her cozy home.

It was nice. Like really nice. Marble countertops, and hardwood floors. There was a medium-sized balcony, enough for maybe five people. There was an island/bar area, where three stools were lined up. The kitchen was really nice, with a chandelier handing over the island, and a fine area for cooking.

Jess showed me around the other places my eyes were yet to explore. There was a small twisted set of steps that led up to a decently sized loft that was shut off with curtains. Jess pushed them open and let me into it, shutting the curtains back.
