Jess's Pov-

I stumbled out of the bathroom, drying my hair with a towel, to see Billie relaxing on the couch. The rain was pouring, but it was cool in my apartment.

I believed my life was perfect. Billie and I were closer again, and not just because of sex, but because we've bonded over serious shit, and we've had years in the past of being best friends.

"Shit!" I mumbled, seeing the time.

3:57 PM

"What?" Billie asked, sitting herself up.

"Addy, I needed to get her from school like twenty minutes ago!"

Billie said a few more things, but my mind zoned her out as I rushed to get ready and leave.

"My keys, where are my keys?" I said in a panic. I had never picked her up late, and I didn't want her teachers or anyone who took care of her to think I was an unfit guardian. She couldn't go into the system, and that was my biggest worry.

"Jess, babe, let's just take my car, yeah? Addy can ride in style, just throw her car seat in the back and we can get her," Billie said comfortably.

I nodded my head and followed Billie out of my apartment. Again, the rain was POURING, so when we had gotten outside, Billie sheltered my head and ran with me to her car, which was luckily in the parking garage.

Once we had successfully gotten in the car and buckled up, Billie pulled out and took the directions to Adelaide's preschool

When we arrived back home, the rain had come to a slow sprinkle, which was nice. Billie had tossed Adelaide onto her hip and brought her and her bag inside, making me smile at her gesture, knowing she didn't have to do that.

The house was a mess in my eyes. Addy's toys were everywhere, there were uh...clothes...my clothes that were strung across the living room. And there were a few dishes in the sink, and it all overwhelmed me.

I felt bad for having Billie in the house when I looked like it did, but she didn't seem to mind it. It's almost as if she even looked past it, which was nice.

Billie was playing around with Adelaide in her room, so I began running bath water for her.

"Addyyy," I said in a sing-song voice, walking out from the bathroom and into her room. "It's bath time! Let's pick out some pajamas!"

Adelaide seemed elated and began running to her dresser that was full of cute outfits I had purchased over time. She picked out a dainty white nightgown, one of my favorites, and ran for the bathroom, leaving Billie all by her lonesome.

"I think she likes bath time more than she likes you Bil," I snorted, causing Billie to playfully push her bottom lip out,

"Well, shit," She spoke dramatically. I laughed at her actions and sat down on Adelaide's bed.

"You don't have to stay, you can go home, Bil. I enjoyed us today," I stated.

"No, no, I wanna stay. Only if you'd allow it though. I admire being around you, or next to you, or on top of you, honestly, I'm not picky," Billie revealed, causing me to blush deeply. Oh, the memories. The beautiful lust-filled recollections.

"Eh, I think you liked being under me, but I'm just going off what you were screaming earlier," I kidded, causing her to be somewhat flustered. I giggled and stood up, playfully smacking her on the head.

I waltzed back into the bathroom where Addy was, sitting on the closed toilet swinging her legs back and forth. I plugged the drain in the bathtub and let the water fill up.

Later on, after I had finished bathing Addy, I brought her to my room, where she lay comfortably on my bed. She was precious. I took out my phone and snapped a few pictures of her sleepy self.

"Billie, you didn't have to do any of this, I feel bad now," I told her as I viewed my newly cleaned apartment. Billie had cleaned the dishes, and cooked food for us, and, not to mention, she cleaned up everything else that was spread across my home.

"Hey, it's the least I could do. It's wasn't even that much, Jess," Billie described, "Here, sit down and eat, where's Addy?"

"She fell asleep on my bed, I'll give her something when she wakes up." Billie put a plate full of food in front of my face, then placed one next to it. "It smells good, what is it?"

"Vegan black bean enchiladas. My mom made it once so I tried, I hope it's as good as it smells," Billie chuckled.

I ate a few bites and instantly fell in love with her cooking. "Oh my god, it's amazing Bil!"

"I'm proud," She said, sounding as if she had accomplished something.

We continued eating dinner, casually talking about our lives, and what we've missed. She was in the process of producing her newest album and many other things that were a complete shock to me.

I explained more about Adelaide, and why I felt more like her mother than anything else. And then I explained how I tried getting back into dating but anyone I tried being with, left when I said anything about Addy, no matter how many times I explained that I did the best thing for her.

I had moved Addy back to her bed and made my way into the kitchen, cleaning up the little

"Thanks for making us dinner and cleaning up the house Billie, I really appreciate it,"

"Of course baby, it wasn't an issue," She stated, as she ran her hand through the bottom ends of my hair. I leaned into her arm, making her wrap it around me. "Is it okay if we have a sleepover?"

"I have work tomorrow Bil, I wouldn't wanna bother you so early,"

"Jess, It's okay, whenever you wake me up, I'll leave and get through with my day,"

"It's okay with me, I could use a few more hours with you. The only catch is you gotta stay quiet this time, Addy is asleep and I would hate to stop and have to put her back to sleep," I smirked.

"Shit, say less," Billie said, wrapping her hands around my neck and placing a harsh kiss on my lips.
