Chapter 48

Lizzie's pov

It's almost been a couple of months since he has been away, and I miss him so much. Its my birthday today and I just wish he was here to celebrate with me. I just felt so low that I didn't even bother getting out of bed unless it was to use the toilet. I was soon broken out of my thoughts when Scarlett and the twins made their way over to me.

"Happy birthday Lizzie." They all said in unison.

"Is it though." I said sadly.

"Hey come on. There's something downstairs for you." Scar said as she rubbed my back. I reluctantly got up and followed them towards the living room. They had already made breakfast for me and there was gift bags on the table.

"Come on let's eat and then you can have your gifts." Ashley said as she sat us down on the sofa and handed me my breakfast. We all ate in a comfortable silence until we  had all finished eating.

"Well come on then birthday girl, let's open your presents." MK said excitedly. I had opened all of the presents that were in eyesight.

"Thank you so much." I told them all with a genuine smile.

"Well there's still one more present for you." Scarlett said as she handed me a small bag with a envelope. I immediately recognised Y/Ns handwriting.

"How did he get me a present." I asked her with tears in my eyes.

"Well he bought it months before Christmas and asked if I would give it to you on your birthday. He hated that he wasn't going to be here with you on your birthday and anniversary." She said with a soft smile which I returned. I opened up the envelope first to find that he had wrote a letter.

My sweetheart,

I'm sorry that I won't be able to be with you on your special day but I will be able to spend plenty more birthdays with you. Because you are my forever, my destiny. Everything that I have done has lead me to you and I wouldn't change anything that happened on my life because in the end of it all, I found my love, my life and my soul mate. I know Scar has probably already told you that I had this planned months before Christmas. I just wanted you to know that even when I'm the other side of the world you're all I think about and our future together. And I hope you like your present and know that you're always in my heart no matter how far apart we are.

I couldn't stop the tears falling from my face as I read the letter with a wide smile on my face. I put the letter down and went in the small bag and found a small box. I opened it and I saw the most beautiful ring with an emerald diamond. I was lost for words at his gift as I just stared at the ring.

"So how was it?" Scar asked softly as she sat next to me.

"It's perfect. I can't believe he thought so hard about this months before my birthday." I said with a teary smile.

"He loves you so much. I could tell when he gave me the ring and the letter. He asked me if you would like it and I knew that you would." She told me with a soft smile.

"Aww he's so cute. You're really lucky to have him lizzie." Ashley said as I looked over at the twins who both had tears in their eyes after reading his letter before handing it over to Scar.

"I am lucky. He's the most amazing person I have ever met considering everything he has been through." I told them softly.

"Is that why he doesn't talk about his family?" MK asked quietly.

"Well he hasn't spoke to his parents since he joined the military and with what I saw at his brothers graduation I don't blame him. He doesn't consider them his family." I told them softly as they just nodded not wanting to push for more since its not really my place to say anything.

"Well then go and get ready, we're going out for a meal with your mum and meeting her at the restaurant." Scar said as she had tears in her eyes handing my the letter back. I took it with me and put it on my nightstand before heading for a shower.

Scarletts pov

We watched as lizzie walked away towards their bedroom to get ready.

"Do you think she's going to be OK?" Ashley asked quietly.

"Im not sure but she is strong and I believe that he will do everything in his power to come home." I told them softly. "He really loves her. I'm just happy she's found someone who will fight to their last breath to make sure she is happy."

The three of us had wide smiles at the thought of lizzie finally finding someone who treats her the way she deserves. She deserves all of the happiness in the world and more. And Y/N gives her all of that. He doesn't care that about the fame and fortune. He would spend every bit of his money on her to make sure that she was taken care of. He would make an amazing dad someday and most definitely an amazing husband.

"Do think he is OK?" MK asked us while we stared at her with confused expressions.

"Yeah I think so why?" I said quietly.

"Well he usually rings her every couple of days and it's been nearly a week since since she has heard from him." She said quietly.

"I'm sure he's fine. They would tell her if something was wrong." Ashkey tried to reassure her.

"Yeah you're right. I just don't want to see her hurt." She said as she played with her fingers.

"Well OK enough about that let's just have fun tonight with the birthday girl." I said with a smile. After lizzie was ready we all headed out to celebrate her birthday with her parents and her friends. Making sure to take her my off of everything and just let her live in the moment. I even remember the conversation I had with Y/N when he handed me the gift.

"Please make sure that Lizzie is happy when I'm away. I don't want her to spend most of her time upset and worrying about me. So please do anything you can to keep her happy please Scar." He pleaded with a soft smile.

"I will but why are you saying all of this now?" I asked him confused.

"I just need someone to look out for her. I'm going to be away for 6 months and I know that it will affect her more than the last one." He said softly.

"Don't worry. I will make sure that she is taken care of." I said as I pulled him in for a hug still confused on why he is really asking this.

But little did I know that there was something behind it. He had a bad feeling about something as do I but I won't show it until I know for definite that it's right.
