Chap 24

As I was walking I stopped and went to a small corner store. I opened the door with a little struggle and walked to the back looking for the bathroom. I noticed a woman staring at me with a concerned expression.

"Can I help you ?" I look her in the face.

"Oh no just wondering what you're doing that's it." She smiled and dropped what she had in her hand.

"Where's the bathroom" I asked almost catching an attitude.

She pointed toward the hallway with her eyes bulging out of her head.

I walked sluggishly to the back and opened a door, I went in and looked at myself in the mirror for a while. I looked fucking crazy and tired, no wonder that lady was looking at me like that.

I bent over and splashed my face with water and used some of the hand soap to clean my face. I started to get some tissue from the bathroom and wrapped a lot around my feet.

After I was done cleaning up I went into one of the stalls to pee. As I was in the stall I heard someone walk in.

"Maam are you okay?" The same lady came in asking questions.

"Yes I'm okay just leave me be" I rolled my eyes and pulled up my pants.

She walked to my stall and begin to knock on it.

"MAAM I SAID IM OKAY"  I shouted from behind the door.

I whammed the door opened with ease as she followed me to the sink. I kept my eyes on her as I was washing my hands in the sink. This lady was getting on my damn nerves, I just wanted to hit her.

I slowly walked out the bathroom as she followed close behind me, I could feel her breath on me.

I quickly walked out of the store and strolled my way to the end of the street, when I looked behind me the lady was in front of the store staring at me.

I flicked her off and kept walking until I made it to the neighborhood park.

I walked around the park looking for people who looked nice. I wanted to ask to use someone's phone but the way I was looking I didn't think I could.

I noticed a lady with her kids on the swing and begin to approach them. "Hey excuse me I was wondering if I could use your phone for a minute?"

She took one look at my face and begin to move slowly. She picked her baby up off the swing and put her in the stroller, she then grabbed her son and told him to go across the park to another bench. She then quickly walked away from me.

I didn't know what to say at all, I couldn't blame her either but it was not what I was expecting.

At this point there was no reason for me to keep asking around like a beggar.

I sat at the bench and looked around, I then bent forward and put my head in my hands. My nerves were so bad and I couldn't contain myself. I just wanted to cry but now was not the time. There was not enough time for me to just sit here and cry, I had to act now.

I stood up and begin walked to the my neighborhood wondering who's house I would go to, malcom probably got a girlfriend right now and manny probably didn't want to see me.

I started walked to the back of the park, I took the sidewalk that led to the houses. I looked at the little families and how happy they looked with their kids, if only I had that  when I was younger.

I wanted a normal life but things just keep changing, nothing goes right for me at all. I ended up loosing hope for myself when I got to high school.
