Not everyone could be as patient as her but everything has its limit and Heather Miller decided she should make a move, otherwise, she might be trapped inside the frustrating world between her insensitive fiancé, Malcolm as well as the one he has been calling 'my girl best friend' – the bitchy, two faces Bianca Wood.
Last time while Heather and her beloved Malcolm were on their way to the airport for their upcoming anniversary holidays, Bianca out of a sudden made a phone call to Malcolm and demanded him to stay by her side because she was caught with flu. And guess what, Malcolm seems to favour his best friend over his fiancé where Heather went to the destination alone without that unmindful dude.
For this time around, Heather finally said a farewell to her precious eight years relationship with Malcolm since she could not cope any longer with him and his favourite best friend, Bianca. The beautiful brunette stared outside from her bay window, reminiscing back on all the good and bad memories between her and Malcolm. Three days have passed since she decided to call off their engagement, and the fiancé of her seems like he was okay with it thus infuriating Heather more.
"I thought he loved me, and now it seems so obvious that everything was a lie. What a fake love." Heather muttered to herself. Tears kept on strolling out of her eyes, and nothing could stop how resentful she felt toward Malcolm.
She wiped out the tears, lying down on the bed while staring at the ceiling of her room. For a moment, she daydreamed so she could escape from the sickening feeling of heartbreak; and it did help her, especially during this tough time. Heather has fallen asleep soon after she has done daydreaming about her future life as a painter, without the sight of Malcolm Hendrix.
On the next day, Heather decided she should take time off. Without hesitation, she booked a flight ticket to the spectacular Koh Samui, Thailand. As a freelancer painter, the time has always been her good friend as she has a lot of free moments to be spent. The reason why she chose the wonderful island has mostly been influenced by her parents, that used to travel all around the globe during their youth.
"Oh, dear. I hope you will have a great time in Thailand." Mrs Miller said, kissing the temple of her only daughter. Once she knew about the break-up between Heather and Malcolm, she was able to smile happily as she, for an obvious reason, did not like that man to be with her daughter.
"I hope so. Thank you for the recommendation. Can't wait to spend my days there." Heather replied, faking a smile so her mother was not able to see her wrecking emotion of her. And both the mother and daughter shared a warm embrace as the bond between them was unbreakable.
A few days have left and Heather officially leaves her country for the jewel of Southeast Asia, Thailand. It was her first trip to the tropical country and she was looking forward to it until the memories of Malcolm reappeared back inside her mind. After the break-up, she deleted his number, threw all his gifts as well as burned down the picture of him. But, the traces of memories that he left could not be erased, and Heather wished she could have amnesia now.
"Am I lovesick right now?" She muttered dejectedly. Why did his images seem hard to erase from her mind?
Throughout the journey to Koh Samui, Heather could not stop the tears from flowing as she was remembering back all the things that have become the reason why Malcolm and her separated.
It all started with Bianca Woods that keep on spreading lies about her to Malcolm and at the end of the day, she won him over. What she resented the most, why did Malcolm believe Bianca more than her even though she was his fiancée? Heather still could not find the reason why.
"Hey, are you alright?" The passenger that sat beside her suddenly asked about her condition with a very worried face. However, Heather did not answer the guy instead shutting her eyes tight with the hope all her pains would be gone and her Thailand trip goes smoothly.
Even though the guy that asked her earlier did not give up on befriending her, Heather just gave a cold shoulder to him. For her, that man was so busybody and most importantly – annoying!
"Could he shut up for a second? I don't know why he keeps on blabbering." Heather muttered annoyingly.
"Excuse me? Do you know why I am jabbering now? To keep you out of your gloomy mood. See, you're not crying anymore. You should thank me." Instead of scolding her for badmouthing him, the gentleman giggled and so did Heather.
Five minutes later, everything back to the same as Heather decided to be an ice-queen by pretending that the man that she labelled as Mr Noisy never existed in her life. Because now, she just wanted to embrace herself without the presence of an outsider – like the man she barely knew on the Cathay Pacific Airline.
A few hours later, they landed at Hong Kong International Airport and were required to change their flight as Bangkok Airways would be the connecting plane that transports them safely to the land of Koh Samui.
It was tiring physically and mentally for Heather. Long-distance trips alongside a broken heart have never been a good combination. Luckily, she did not encounter again with that weird stranger that she thought was almost ruining her day inside the plane throughout the journey from New York to the pearl of Asia, Hong Kong.
"Goodness, I need to sleep!" Heather mumbled sleepily. Once the plane was in a taxi and ready to take off, she finally fell asleep.
With an unwavering pain of her past, Heather Miller did not have any other choices other than to move on, start a new life, and most importantly forget the man that used to bring joy to her life.
