Shame on her for being so coward and deciding to run away from the problems that arise whenever she goes. First, she could not solve the problem between her and Malcolm as she thought it would be better to dump him and run away. Then, she left Philip without a proper goodbye despite how kind he was to console her during the lowest time of her life.
Soon after her unpredictable night with Philip, Heather packed up her luggage briskly as she has almost forgotten that she would be leaving Thailand on that day. As for Philip, he tried to find her but his quest has come to a dead end. He was informed by the receptionist that Miss Heather Miller had checked out and left Koh Samui for good.
Heather had a long journey ahead of her. With no communication by her side, she felt like a caveman that does not know about the current issues. Once she arrived home more than twenty-four hours later, her mother suddenly informed her of Malcolm's condition.
"Hea, I tried to call you numerously and inform you that Malcolm is hospitalized now. Heard he got gastric."
"Well, serve him up. I don't have any relationship with him anymore."
"I know, but I am tired of your ex-future in-laws that keep on bothering me and your father."
Heather leered at her mother with an indescribable face. Why is Malcolm always causing her new problem after another? If he wanted to be broken-hearted, don't involve innocent people like her parents. Now, he just made her look like a villain that should be blamed for his misfortune.
On that night, Heather channelled out her frustrations to her childhood best friend, Daphne Lawson through her mother's cellphone. Daphne has always been her counsellor and listener, and talking with her is what she needed the most.
"I did not know that he would be that lunatic to do hunger strike or whatever. And now everyone blames me – saying that Heather Miller is a heartless bitch. I am tired, Daphne." She expressed everything that she had in her mind and heart to Daphne.
"For me, I trust you more than anyone else. And I loathed that bitch alongside her cum dog. I already told you that Malcolm does not deserve you, Heather." Daphne said, sighing with relief as her best friend realised that Malcolm was never going to be the right guy for her.
"Thank you for listening to me despite what I did to you back then." Heather said apologetically.
Daphne always reminded her that Malcolm had never been a good guy for her, and her sense of judgement was true. Malcolm did not know what he did wrong. Albeit he claimed Bianca is his foster sister, it doesn't seem that way since Heather knew Bianca loves Malcolm from the gaze of her eyes. Deep down in her heart - she was hurt!
One week has gone but Philip Kim could not hide his resentment for being unable to meet with Heather again. Soon after their one-night stand in Koh Samui, he woke up and that was the last time he saw her. Two days later, he went back to Miami and faced the thing he hated the most – working! Who favours working as an attorney, especially when the workloads keep on increasing day by day?
Philip marched slowly to the place that he thought did not give any meaning to him anymore. Frankly speaking, law subject was not his cup of tea but to fulfil the dream of his 'Asian Parents', he graduated from the greatest London School of Economics with a first-class honours degree in Law. A few years later, he graduated with a Master of Legislation and Administrative Law from Georgetown University Law Centre in Washington D.C.
"So, dude. How was your trip to Thailand? I bet it must be awesome." One colleague of his was anticipated to find out more about Philip's vacation journey as that Korean American man usually tended to be hardworking and does not have time for himself.
