-TWENTY-ONE. Bokuto's new student

CHAPTER 21

『Bokuto's new student』

❝Do you want him to call you master or something...?❞

    "AKAASHI GIVE ME A GOOD ONE!!" Bokuto ran up to the ball, jumped high and spiked, successfully passing the blockers, "YEAAHHH!! HEY HEY HEY!"

    "Holy crap Bokuto! That hit you just did, did you glance it off the blockers hand on purpose?!" Hinata asked excitedly.

    "Yeah, it's a rebound."

    "Woahhh, a rebound?! Cool!!" Hinata said with stars on his eyes, making Bokuto flustered.

    "Yeah! It is isn't it?"

    "Little Hinata sure is good at giving compliments..." Kaito commented.

    "If your balance is off and you feel like you're sure to be blocked if you take the shot, you hit the ball against the blockers on purpose and have it rebound back so you can set it up again. Make sense?" Bokuto explained to Hinata, who let out a gasp, "But a lot of times it doesn't work and the ball ends up getting slammed back in your face."

    "Yeaaah, that happens to you a lot Bokuto." Akaashi said with a blank face, "That was your queue to say it hasn't been happening to me as much lately!" Yelled Bokuto, who quickly recovered, "Spiking isn't all about slamming it onto the floor, y'know. If you just stay calm, you'll have a clear head at the moment of truth."

    "That has not been happening to you a lot lately." Akaashi said, which made Bokuto yell at him to shut up.

    "Nice one, Akaashi-san! Hinata-kun, we're counting on you!!" Kaito yelled at Hinata, who was getting ready to spike.

    "Ugh come on guys! You don't have to crowd the guy like that!!" Bokuto yelled at the opposing team, who formed a wall, more like an umbrella, with their large bodies.

Hinata, not having another choice, shot the ball upwards, making his teammates surprised.

    "Did you aim that one? That was an amazing wipe!" Kuroo complimented Hinata, who was getting back to his feet.

    "Well, it's true that I aimed at the tip of Lev's hand... But it was just a coincidence that it hit him, I can't hit that accurately—" Hinata was cut off by Kaito patting him on the head.

    "That was really good, Hinata-kun!! Keep that up and I'm sure your 'secret weapon' will be invincible!!" Kaito complimented Hinata.

    "That was a triple-block of 190cm blockers, you know?! That was a nasty ball to hit! Well done shorty, I gotta say I'm impressed!!" Yelled Bokuto, patting him harshly on the back.

    "To the little warrior going up against the two metter wall, I have something for ya!" Bokuto ignored the comments made by Akaashi and Kuroo, "I am going to teach you a special attack my man!!

Hinata's eyes shone, "A special attack?!"

The next morning, Kaito felt sore. All that extra training actually affected his body. He could feel his mucles yelling at him to rest, but being in the official lineup, he couldn't stop training, even if he wanted to. After all, it was his responsibility.

Breakfast was as good as usual, and Kaito was filled with energy to start the day. He went to Nekoma's room, got changed and went to the gym.

Their first match was against Shinzen, and they easily won because Kaito was feeling more animated. The second match was against Fukurodani, and they ended up loosing by three points.

    "It's really hard for anyone to win against Fukurodani, isn't it?" Yaku commented, looking at the scoreboard.

Then, Yuki ran towards the team, holding a piece of paper with all of the current scores. Just as they thought, Fukurodani was the strongest out of everyone, and Karasuno the worst.

    "Oh, the Ubugawa vs Karasuno ended." Kaito informed his teammates, who stared at Karasuno doing their penalty.

    "Woah, Karasuno's shorty takes that pretty seriously, doesn't he?" Yaku said once he saw Hinata.

    "'Shorty', really? You're one to talk, Yaku-san. You're hardly taller than Hinata, aren't you?" Lev smiled at Yaku, who kicked him hard with an angry face.

    "Lev, stand over there!!"

    "I can't defend him against that one." Kuroo said as he stared at the pair.

    "I told him not to mention anything about Yaku-san's height no matter what, dumbass." Yamamoto muttered.

Kaito only chuckled.

Sorry for the short chapter, I'm not really motivated lately.

I finished Hunter x Hunter a few days ago and I'm really sad... ʕ ಡ ﹏ ಡ ʔ I don't really know what to watch next, I've got so many animes to finish...
