Homecoming
"I'm sorry Barry... Im going with Adam"
I watch as Barry's face flashes from different emotions,
Sadness, Terror, Anger, Betrayal.
I feel awful when I know I shouldn't . I reach out and lay my hand on Barrys arm.
"You don't have to go with him you know." Barry declares, grabbing my free hand with his own.
"But Barry, I want to go with Adam" I confessed, attempting to pull away my hands as he grips them tighter. His face morphs from the determined expression to pure unbridled rage.
"What do you even mean? Why would you want to go with him?" Barrys voice rises octaves, I feel fear and anger rise in my chest.
"Because I love Adam!" I said defiantly as I quickly scanned the hallway for my boyfriend.
...
"You love me too Y/N" a deep voice says as I whip my head around. Barry
"You just don't know it yet." He says his face triumphant. He finally lets go of my hands and walks smoothly down the hallway.
WHAT?
I rush to go find Adam and tell him that Barry shouldn't be trusted.
I search the cafeteria quickly looking for familiar antennae. There he was sitting alone at a table with two plates of food looking nervously around.
He must have assumed I forgot or stood him up.
"Adam!" I call from where I'm standing watching his face light up at the sound of my voice.
I walk over and sit across from him.
"I- I thought that you stood me up? Are you okay? I was worried something happened to you" Adam rambled quickly his face filling with a blush. He was used to being interrupted, mainly by Barry.
I quickly told Adam what happened and watched his face fall. What if he doesn't believe me? He's known Barry for longer, We just started dating...
Warmth interrupts my racing thoughts, Adams hand engulfs my own.
"Y/N I'm so sorry, I wasn't there! I love you so much" He exclaims his eyes full of concern and love.
I smile softly "I- I love you too, so so much Adam" I gently kiss his rosey cheek.
He makes me feel so loved with just a look, Adam was my comfort and my refuge. We stare into each others eyes for a long long time.
RUGGHHHH
My stomach gurgling cuts our moment short
"Oh Y/N" He says concerned "Please eat the food I bought you.."
"Oh... Thank you so much!" I exclaimed looking at the tray of (favorite food)
Adam understood me so well, and cared for me as I cared for him.
"I need to grab something from my locker, honey" Adam said with a smile as he let go of my hand "Please eat up. I'll be right back!"
"Okay I will" I said tentatively taking a bite of my food watching his face glow as I did so.
"See you in approximately 7 minutes" He said as he walked off.

How could they... break my heart
They COULDN'T love Adam.

They're just distracted by Adam, I need to fix that.
I am crouched in a corner because of them, I am crying because of them.

I need them to see that.
I hear footsteps in the hallway and turn
Adam?
He adjusts his wired glasses and opens his locker not seeing me as I stand up.
I put my hand into my back pocket as he pulls out a small box.
BANG!
