Prologue
If one looked to the high mountains, they could find a girl being born. The young child, born on a summer day, was a happy baby. With extravagant eyes, and hair as gold as the sun, the parents named her Eldora, which meant sun in Greek. Now Eldora did not have just ordinary parents, but her parent were the rulers of the small mountain Kingdom named Zephira, and was named appropriately so because of the wind that whistled between every building. The kingdom held many secrets, and with its mountains cloaked in mystery and the unknown made ever man wary of venturing into them.
One of these secrets was the wolves in a pack called Cato. They were not like regular wolves, because they were werewolves. They barely came to human areas, and stayed in the mountains in wolf form. However, a young man ventured away from his pack, and came upon the castle of Zephira. Disguising himself as a servant, he soon learned the ways of humans, and fell in love.
About year and a half after Eldora was born, another child came, this time on the brink of winter, with the moon shining down when she was born. This baby was not like Eldora. Thin and frail, the girls hair was as white as the moon, and eyes as grey as silver. The king and queen called her Luna, after the moon she was born under. However, Luna was not a normal child. Her voice was quiet and was not used above a whisper. A delicate girl with a thin frame made people think she would break. Smarter than a whip, she hid from everyone in the great library, reading everything.
She felt little towards her mother, who was not in her company long, nor her father. They did not feel like parents to her. She spent most of her time with her sister, and they grew closer and older together. Both girls had one favorite habit, which was to run around the castle at night, in their nightgowns. Eldora was never mistaken as a ghost, but Luna was on the account of being so pale, and her hair being so white. One night, Eldora found a way to get into the music room, and was able to play a simple tune do to some music lesson she had. The music is simple, and Luna wished to join in the music. Her Voice, though barely used, was the most beautifully haunting sound ever to resound throughout the castle's walls.
As the girls got older, they lessened there walks throughout the castle. However, Luna still went, on every full moon, to the music room. Luna always went, as if compelled to the piano, and would start to sing. The moon would stretch across her hands, and Luna would feel pure bliss. She learned every instrument should could that did not require her mouth. Even as Eldora did not go, Luna did.
We start here. At the age of 17, Eldora was on the market for a rich husband, and constantly flaunting her beauty. Luna, secretive and shy, stayed to what she knew, and being 15, her family did not bother her about the subject of match making, because Eldora was the one to be a bride. Luna still was drawn to the piano, even as it became bothersome to her family, and would still freak the servants out because she sounded so much like a ghost.
Eldora, a few weeks before Luna's birthday, had gone to a masquerade ball, and fallen in love with a man who refused to take his mask off. Eldora persuaded her parents to hold a ball, hoping her mystery prince would show. As it happened, the ball landed on a month with two full moons, and Luna was going to her piano no matter what. She did not even care if Eldora held all the males from the ball captive in the castle until she found the mystery man. So the castle prepared for the weeks the men would dance around Eldora.
