Derek and I were able to get to the garden, with the wind only being slightly obnoxious. He had noticed the small wooden sign, lodged in a bush, telling us the way. I praised his eyes, because most people missed the poor beaten sign. The garden was more occupied than last time Eldora and I went, which was only this morning. I felt happy in the paths, as I led Derek around. The garden did not have paths like others, as each bush had a purpose. The whole garden was made so it would not be destroyed. This bush was taller than the bleeding hearts, shielding them from the winds, as the bush could stand against them. I had learned each path. Derek was rambunctious, leaving my side to poke this or that, or stare at some of the plants that only grew in Zephira. An example was Winds Bane, I plant so sturdy, with flowers that had extremely sharp edges. Winds Bane was the only plant that could grow anywhere along the mountains, and was a nice looking plant too. Bending down I went to answer Derek’s pointing at some random plant. When I turned my head, I met his eyes. The golden orbs stared at me, as he was standing next to a hedge of sorts, with blooming orange flowers. Turning his head in wonder, he palmed a flower and sniffed, as if inhaling the aroma. I just stood there like a fool. Derek had noticed my distraction, and was smiling goofily next to me. I still was bent over, and when I realize that Derek had straightened, I quickly jerked up, making myself dizzy in the process. Derek chuckled, before announcing loudly.
“I best be leaving my dearest Luna, as I have something of importance to attend to. Excuse me Sir?” Derek spoke, while gesturing to a figure behind my back. Turning my head sharply, which sent another tang through my skull, I noticed Ashton coming forward, responding to Derek’s hand. Now Ashton stood close, at an angle, close but not touching, but enough to sent pangs through my chest.
“Would you please be kind to watch over my dear Luna for me? I must unfortunately leave, and if you would escort her back when she is ready I would be grateful.” Derek smirked, so pleased with himself. I glared at him, mad he would leave me with Ashton, Alone!
“I would be most honored to watch over you Miss.” I turned stunned at his voice, its velvety presents swirling though my ears. Who was this man? Derek smiled, before shaking Aston’s hand. Turning to me, he bowed gracefully, snatching my hand and giving it a quick peck.
“Later Miss Luna” and with that Derek was gone.
Turning slowly, I came face to face with Ashton. I watched his golden eyes tracing my face, committing it to memory. I took in a shaky breath, my heart hammering in my chest. Ashton slowly raised his hand near my face, cupping my chin. I was paralyzed, unable to move, watching him, his eyes never leaving mine. Sparks shot through my body from where his hand touched my face. My body seemed alive, as a pleasant purring swirled in my head. Mine my inner voice whispered all mine. It was strange. I only heard that inner voice when I needed to be calm down, or during the full moon. It was even stranger when he whispered the words back.
“Mine”
I was confused, but I did not want to break contact. The feeling felt too wonderful. Noticed his eyes dropping to my lips, and mine followed suit. They were perfect. Sensuous and breathtaking, I felt myself watching them, every small breath he took making my feel jittery. Biting my lip, I heard the small growl slip from his lips. Wait, did Ashton just growl? I stepped back quickly, making his hand fall from my face, before instantly missing its presence. I ducked my head, trying to avoid his golden eyes. I was so mystified. I knew that growl. I had heard it in one of my dreams. “Who are you?” I whispered my confusion evident on my face. Lifting my chin up, his eyes once again captured mine, and he slowly whispered,
