Chapter 14: What Happened?

Well, that was... something.

I guess now you know who the main character is.

One moment you see Akko hopping around on her broom and in the next you watch her fly at mach speed on one of the legendary relics, The Shooting Star. The broom that can fly at an insane speed that could cross the sea in mere seconds.

She was moving so fast, your eyes couldn't keep up. You see her one second and then you don't.

After a few tense seconds, you see her again with chains wrapped around her waist, somewhat securing her on the broom.

Are you crazy or did she actually manage to control the broom? The crowd goes wild and all you could hear is wild cheers and shouts as Akko and Diana go head to head.

You're so proud of both of them. Akko for going against one of the top students and actually having a chance of winning. And Diana, for being able to match the speed of Shooting Star. No matter who wins, you're proud of both of them.

Just before reaching the finish line, the chains that strapped Akko to the broom snapped.

Diana won and Akko lost. She lied there, staring up at the sky while the whole of the student body went to congratulate Diana for her victory.

You huffed before making your way toward the motionless girl on the ground.

You nudge her with your foot and smile when she meets your eyes. "So, how was it?"

She let out a breathy sigh, " ... amazing."

Giving her a hand, you help her up. "Not bad for your first broom race. Even if you didn't fly on your own, good job." You patted her head and ruffled her hair.

She stayed quiet for a bit before leaning on you, "Hey, Y/n?"

"Hm?"

"I really want to fly. It felt so amazing and... free."

You smile again, but this time more gently, "True that, but I'm pretty sure what you felt while riding the Shooting Star was more adrenaline rather than freedom. Tell you what, once my hand is fully healed, I'll take you out on a ride."

She hugged you tight and smiled against your chest, "That sounds fun."

The sun had already set and the moon bathed the land in its light.

You make it to your room and unlock the door. It has been a long day. Far too long for your liking. From waking up to now walking through the doorway, everything was such a pain.

Your room was pitch black and the lights from Adaj's terrarium were the only source of light that somewhat illuminated the place.

Your hand roamed a bit over the walls before finally finding the light switch. And let's just say you almost died a second time when the lights kicked in.

"Jesus Christ, Diana. You scared the shit out of me!" You gave her a weird look. She was sitting on the couch with her arms crossed. "What the heck are you doing?"

"Hm? I thought you said I was welcome here whenever." She raised an eyebrow, "Change of heart already?"

You let out a tired sigh, "I know what I said, Diana. I was just asking what you were doing here in the dark. And how long were you just sitting there?"

She just silently stood up and started to walk towards you, "That's not important right now. Instead, answer me this-" she then suddenly slams her hands against you, trapping you between her and the door. "What is the relationship status of you and that Kagari girl?"

I thought I was the only one who's allowed to kabedon people.

It would have been more intimidating if she was, ya know... taller. But she's not, so...

The two of you just share a moment of silence. Her, just staring at you like you're about to unleash some super dark and deep secret, and you just staring at her a bit shocked from her sudden boldness.

It takes you a bit to break the so-called tension, as your shoulders relax a bit. "Well, you remember how I had to go to Japan to get better treatment for my little illness, right?" You notice how Diana's expression got a bit solemn, "Well, I met the Kagaris there, and through them, I met Akko. We're just friends, you know."

With a hand, you gently lift up her chin. Still keeping eye contact, you lean down a bit. Leaving only a small gap between your and her lips. "I won't have any relations with anyone unless you want or let me."

You notice her looking at your lips with furrowed eyebrows before she grabs you by the shirt and forces you down towards her. And in an almost whisper-like voice, she said, "I doubt I'll ever do such a thing."

But before you could say or do anything, her lips were already on yours. Her arms were now firmly wrapped around your neck as her lips moved a tad bit more forceful than you had been anticipating.

"Hm, jealous are we?" You smirk against her lip.

She in return pushes you fully down to the ground, making you sit down on the floor before taking a seat on your lap. "Just shut up and kiss me." She grumbles out.

"Can we at least do this on the couch? My butt is already starting to hurt." You let out a little protest before she could kiss you again.

She didn't listen, instead, she just continued to kiss you, "Take this as a punishment then."

'What happened to my sweet and innocent baby?!'

The two of you just sat there, kissing, for who knows how long. Your legs are already numb and asleep and some might say they're in a coma.
