The Unmatchable Match

~ Chapter 5 ~

"Well you know how I’m married with Liz , maybe we can meet at the pizza place near your house and you could give me some advice on how to make things work with her," Jake told me with hopeful eyes; but I was broken. Here I was thinking maybe he would ask me out when in reality he just wanted Liz! Oh well, I should have known better......

Minutes passed and I still hadn’t responded. “So, could you?" he asked with puppy eyes and I couldn’t say no, he just looked too cute.

I sighted "Okay, Meet me there at 7." with that I got inside my car and headed home feeling heart broken, why couldn’t I had been paired with Jake instead of the jerk of Blake, maybe that way he would be trying to find a way to approach me, ME and not Liz.

Well I refuse to be that girl that cries over a guy that is not even hers, I will not drop a single tear for Jake, or at least not until I know that my crush on him is really a waste of time, then maybe I can cry, just maybe; but not before I try everything to get him to see me.

When I got home, I had a new resolution: show Jake the amazing girl he is missing because he is too blind to see me, and that meeting was going to help me.

"Hi mom. I´m home!" I greeted my mom as I searched for her, but she was nowhere to be found.

Maybe she was in one of her night shifts on the hospital. you see my mom is a doctor. Normally she works during the afternoon but sometimes she gets calls during the night so she leaves and comes back until noon the next day; I know that everyone with a parent gone all night would throw a party, but I’m not to bond with them, they just bring trouble. Since tomorrow is Saturday and I don’t have a thing to do, tonight is just me, a bowl of popcorn and 4 seasons of Gossip Girl.

I was through the second season and the 3rd bowl of popcorn when my cell phone rang.

“Hello?" I asked wndering who could call me at 12:30 PM. I knew Liz was busy with her family since I had called her earlier.

“Are you deaf or something?" a very irritated Blake replied from the other side of the line

“Well, hello to you too; and no for your information I had my hearing cheeked this month and the doctor said I was perfect. But thank you for your concern, I’m glad to see you care for me” I said to him sarcasticly knowing that he would get even more mad.

He snorted, "As if I would be concerned for you, I’m concerned for me!" What? Concerned for him? If he is concerned about himself why is he calling me?

“Now open the door before I catch a cold, you don’t have any idea how freaking cold outside is" he was clearly irritated.

“What? Wait are you here, how do you know my address? Are you a stalker? Oh no, are you here to try to kill me? Because if you are I’m begging you not to, I mean I know the whole you loved me thing with that people was mean but not enough to kill me!" I was rambling on the phone, which is what I normally do when I´m nervous, but come on he wants to kill me!

“Carrie, could you shut up and open the door, I’m not going to kill you” he said frustrated.

I wasn’t going to trust him that easy. “Promise?”

“Promise. now could you please open the door I’m freezing.” Blake said with a condescending voice.

I went to open the door, and there he was looking amazing and the rain that fell over his face just made him look even better. I moved around to let him in before he could catch me staring.

“ FYI I told the neighbors you were here so don’t try anything weird.” Ok maybe I told a little white lie, but that might keep him from killing me. I still don’t trust him.
