Lucie Silvas - What You're Made Of:
'If it's not what you're made of, you're not what I'm looking for. You were willing but unable to give me anymore. There's no way, you're changing, 'cause some things will just never be mine. You're not in love this time... but it's alright.'Noelle looked around at the scenery while she sat in one of the Ubers that was transporting the friends over to their favourite club. Her mind wandered back to her moment in the toilet with Charles earlier this evening and the corners of her mouth curled upwards at the warm feeling she got when he pulled her close. "What are you smiling about?" Sophie asked and Noelle noticed Stephan's eyes on her face from the seat across from her. "Ehh, nothing.. I'm just happy we're really doing this!" She quickly said and Noelle placed her hand on top of her best friend's, giving it a small squeeze while smiling brightly at her.
Sophie had insisted on having Gabriel and his friends in their Uber and although Noelle's first thought was that she would have much rather had Charles in there with her, she didn't complain when Stephan sat down in front of her. The gaze in his eyes had changed a little over the course of the evening and Noelle wasn't really sure if it was just because he was interested in her or if he had a few too many glasses of champagne already. She had also noticed Charles' eyes fixated on her after they had met in the toilet and the conversation they had about Stephan kept replaying in her head. 'Why would he ask about him? Was he jealous?' There was nothing to be jealous about. Noelle could see Charles didn't fully believe her when she said the blonde boy was just a friend.
But she wasn't lying. Of course, Stephan was really handsome and he had been nothing but nice to her the two times she had seen him, but Noelle wasn't ready to think about anything else with him. She had noticed the touch of his hand on her leg and waist a few times throughout this evening and she knew Stephan probably wanted something more than friendship, but the fact that she didn't feel any magnetic attraction between the two of them when he leaned in closer to talk to her, said everything she needed to know. Her thought process was broken when the Uber pulled up in front of the club and the group stepped out to meet up with the others before heading inside.
One of the bouncers led them to a VIP booth that Sophie had rented and the group cheered at the sight of the ice buckets with bottles of liquor that were on the tables. Some of the guys started pouring shots and even though it was a little hectic, Noelle liked the fact that they were out with such a big group for once. Gabriel and Stephan's other friends had taken a liking to their old high school friends Chloé & Mariel so the four of them quickly made their way to the dance floor when a new song came on. Christine and Hugo had left after the dinner, saying he had to work in the morning and Noelle saw a few of Charles' friends make their way through the club to look for some girls to spend the evening with, leaving him sitting on the sofa with his closest friend.
Just when she was about to walk over towards him, Noelle felt a hand on her shoulder and she quickly turned around. Stephan wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close, leaning in closer to be able to whisper in her ear over the loud music. A nervous feeling immediately rose to Noelle's chest, he hadn't been this forward since they met and she wasn't used to him being so close to her. "Can I get you anything to drink?" He whispered in his ear before he left a small kiss on her cheek, which made Noelle pull her head back slightly, looking at the smile that spread across his face. "I'll just grab something from over here, thank you, though". She said before she walked over to the table and poured herself a glass from one of the complimentary bottles they had been given.
Stephan had followed her and poured himself a drink as well before he held out his hand for her to take. "Do you want to dance?" Noelle hesitated and her eyes scanned the room quickly, seeing Charles on the sofa to her left, scrolling through his phone and laughing at something funny with his friend when her eyes fell on Sophie. She was dancing with Gabriel, the two of them completely engrossed in each other. After a few seconds, Noelle decided to place her hand in Stephan's and he guided her back to her best friend and pulled her closer to his body while he started moving to the rhythm. 'I just need to let go a little, don't overthink it'. Noelle thought to herself and she took a big gulp of her drink before she started dancing with the blonde-haired boy.
