Insomnia's Perspective | The Lover
Warning: Abuse, Violence, Mental and Emotional Abuse, and Toxic Relationship.

SEONGHWA was that guy, he was the one that everyone loved. They looked up to him and they wanted to be him. He was rich, he was handsome, he was "kind". Girls wanted to be with him and Boys wanted to be him. He and Sua had been friends ever since college. He knew her friends and they knew him.

All of them liked him and accepted him for their girl, except for Jiu. She didn't like him, she detested him, but her friend was happy and so she ignored his presence that was annoying for her.

It came as a shock to everyone that knew them when Sua and Seonghwa started dating. They were the IT couple. Yes, to the outside world, Seonghwa was out of Sua's league as what a lot of girls had said to her. But they were amazing with one another.

They took care of each other, he took her to work and drove her back home. He would give her flowers every Sunday of the week. She would leave encouraging messages to him. Every work, Seonghwa did, she loved and supported it.

It was probably when Seonghwa started having issues with his business when things started to go downhill or they were fated to break up from the start. His business flunked and something just snapped. It started with rough touches, squeezing and leaving marks on Sua's hands whenever he would feel offended, angry, and out of it. Soon it turned into "accidentally" closing the door harshly while her foot was near, breaking it.

Then, he would pour hot water on her while she was asleep to wake her up, saying that it was a joke and a prank, making her laugh and deem it as nothing at that time.

It wasn't all that, whenever Sua had managed to do something amazing, such as making a newly taught students win a dance competition or choreograph a dance to a song that's hard and everyone would love it, except for him. He would berate it, starting from what she wore and her dance and her body. It would be either her clothes didn't fit the dance or the choreo was too boring or her body was too fat that it didn't fit the dance and the song.

He did all those things to make himself feel good and satisfied. He knew that Sua would never leave him. He had put good effort in keeping her. He gave her everything so he thought, what right did she have to leave him.

She was his and only his.

Of course, as time passed, and his actions and his personality got worse. Sua noticed it but at that point the damage had been done. She had been scarred by a man that she thought would never hurt her. By a man that she thought would love her wholeheartedly and openly.

She gave him a second chance, then a third, then a fifth, then a thousand. Next thing she knew, he went a left with her savings saying what's hers is his.

Of course, she broke. Who wouldn't? A man that you love, loved, with all your heart left you, broke you, damaged you beyond repair. A man that she thought that would hurt her. At first, she was in denial. She thought he would return with gifts and flowers just like old time. That's how bright and positive she was. Her friends and family always called her Sunshine. They saw her as someone who saw life as rainbows and butterflies. Jiu once said that she looked at life with light and warmth in her eyes. Jiu loved that about her.

She loved everything about her. Both of them were bright and sunny people, so when they were together; it was all laughs and smiles. But when the third month of Seonghwa leaving and Sua waiting, it dawned upon her that her friend was breaking. Sua was in a spiral of denial, rage, and sadness. She didn't know what to do because this was her first love and she didn't know how to handle this, Jiu saw that and came to her rescue, with a bunch of beer and pizza packed. They held a sleepover between two friends who've known each other ever since they were kids.

They talked, they cried, they laughed and they smiled.

In her group of friends, Jiu and Sua have known each other the longest. They know each other's secrets and feelings. They're always and forever as Jiu likes to say. The first year of Seonghwa leaving came and Sua was utterly broken. She wasn't the woman she was. She couldn't dance, she didn't laugh, she didn't touch her friend's butts, she wasn't her.

Her friends tried helping her, they did. But by that time, it was too late. The realization that Her relationship was Seonghwa was over before he even left had hit her. She had realized that she had been broken by a man that she loved, physically, emotionally, and mentally. She had realized that they had gone too far that it broke her.

She didn't know who she was.

She should have gotten help at that point but she waited. She slept, she woke, and she walked around her home then she slept again, she woke, and she walked. It was a never ending nightmare she lived for one year because she couldn't stomach the fact that she had destroyed something inside her because she believed that she had the perfect relationship with the perfect guy.

But she would stand on the mirror and she would look at the healing wounds and the scars that had been left, and she would break again because the realization went deeper and deeper until she would break again and again, piece by piece.

Handong tried to be there for her, Yoohyeon as well and at that point, Gahyeon came to group and tried being there for her. Such a beautiful personality for the young girl. Trying to help someone that she didn't know that much yet. Yubin or Dami, was too busy at that point with her company but she would try to be there for their little dance as much as she could but nevertheless she was broken.

By a lover that had sworn to never break her.

Jiu was, by far, the person who helped her the most. She knew her the longest after all. She knew the ticks and screws that she had to use to make her, her, again.

The second year came, and she was on the road to recovery. She took dancing classes again. She took a part time job, she tried new hobbies and interests like drawing or painting. She even did rock climbing. Of course, at first it was for distraction. Because at that point, the only thing left in her was anger and regret. She blamed herself. She was angry at him but she blamed herself.

She was too blind.

Now, she wasn't. She wouldn't let a lover get inside her ever again. She wouldn't let anyone break her ever again. She wouldn't love another lover again.

She would save herself from that pain.

Because she was Kim Bora. She was a Queen and by the hell, she wouldn't let anyone break her ever again.

Now here she was, with the woman that somehow saved her with her voice. Holding her hand and the peace and warmth that she felt was more than everything that she felt with the man that was standing outside.

Her once called Lover.

And the woman that taught her what Love meant with her voice, words, lullabies, lyrics, and songs.

I particularly do not like what I just freaking wrote but is it just me or my writing has improved?

Anyways, such a angsty chapter. I hope you all were prepared for this, we dived down to what really happened with Seonghwa and Sua. And of course a lil bit of Bora and Jiu, because they are my second ship in dreamcatcher.
