Insomnia’s Perspective | An Ode To You
The flowers bloomed, and the trees grew. Spring had come. Half a year has passed since the events that caused Sua to left. Here she was, in a new apartment, a new job, a new life. Leaving certainly helped her heal.
She retired immediately from her job when she left the city. As she stepped foot in the train and sent the message to Siyeon, a new life had begun for her. She chose to step back from a successful life as a fan.
How endearing and unique it was, that a message between two strangers, a meeting between a fan and an idol, a singer and a dancer; could be so meaningful even though it was short.
She had not messaged nor contacted Siyeon after that. She had not met her friends that she had left, choosing to talk to them virtually. She had joined a dancing crew and had participated in a few battles here and there. Her breakout was a job offer from a company, they were looking for someone to choreograph a dance for their idol group.
Dreamcatcher.
She had immediately fallen in love with all of them. She enjoyed the work and their presence and the dance came easy in her mind. After that, it was jobs after jobs, battles after battles.
Time passed and here she was, walking in the sidewalk of the road. The moon was out and lonely, just as she was. It was lonely yet safe as it looked down and shined light upon the city. Was it ever lonely when it had the sun backing it up?
They came as a pair. Day and Night.
She wasn't like that. She had no pair. She thought she had it with Seonghwa. She knew she had it with Siyeon but with all that happened, time deemed that it was the wrong time. She deemed it so that it was the wrong time. She was alone yet never forgotten.
Her time here in this new city was good. It healed her in a way yet she remembers. Everything. The beginning. The end. And everything in between. It plagued her mind as she sleeps and wakes. A nightmare that's there even as the day comes. So her horrors were long and happiness was short.
The only safety she feels is in her dance.
She sighs as the night continued to accompany her, alone yet not alone. She looked up to the buildings surrounding her, to the trees that danced in front of her and to the road that cried with her.
Her eyes passed by fast and it stopped. It stopped at a restaurant, One Word. She smiles and jogs up to the place. One Word was a small restaurant, a cafe of sorts, it was a mixture of foods, drinks, coffee, and books. Stepping foot into the retro-designed place with beige wallpaper and dark brown floor. A middle-aged woman who was wearing a greyish apron came up to her.
“ Ah, Hello again, Miss Bora! Would you like the usual or a different order? ”
“ The usual, please. Thank you. ” She told the woman, smiling gently at her.
Heading towards the table placed in the corner and as she put her things on the table. Her bag and jacket. She grabs a pocket book from the shelves. She places herself down on the chair and reads while she waits and waits.
As she waits, soft lullabies could be heard all around the place. It was night time and it was getting closer and closer to midnight. So it was expected that a small amount of people were in the small restaurant. The soft lullabies came in as a familiarity to the dancer.
She remembers her heart, the sweet smell of the studio, long walks in the night with ice creams and drinks, wrong sent messages, small moments in time. Paradise.
