Eri

"Ara, this is your daughter, Eri." Chrono picks her up and walks into the hallway.

The girl, Eri, doesn't look at me. She clings onto Chrono and I recognize the look in her eyes. It's fear.

"Can I hold her?" I act innocent enough. The drugs weren't strong today, maybe half of the first dose I got. I think really clearly and my quirk is active enough. I think I managed to escape today. Especially since Chisaki is going for a walk with us.

Chrono hands her over. She holds on tightly but keeps her gaze downcast.

I smile. "Hi Eri. I'm Ara, your mother. Uhm..." I look at Chrono, trying to figure what to say to her. "Chisaki wants to take us for a walk, okay?"

"Okay..." She says it so quietly I almost don't hear her.

"Thank you for getting them ready, Chrono. I'll take it from here." Chisaki walks up behind me, resting a hand on my lower back.

It takes a lot to stay still, not react. But soon enough we're out of the Hassaikai, walking down an alley. Everytime I look at her, Eri looks away quickly, probably scared. Chisaki stays quiet for most of the walk. At some point, Eri trips and I grab her by the back of the gown.

"Careful, hun. You don't want to hurt yourself." I lean down and squat in front of her, blocking Chisaki from her view. I know he's watching but I have to do something. I whisper, "Hurry, I'll distract him and you run out of the alley, okay? Be fast." I stand up and turn to Chisaki, grabbing my stomach. "Ch-chisaki... I think I'm gonna be sick..." I grab onto his arm. I don't see it but I know the moment she makes a run for it.

Chisaki throws me to the ground, snarling "You lying..." He doesn't finish his sentence, to focused on the other girl.

I watch, scared. My palms are bleeding and my butt hurts. Tears spring to my eyes but I hold them back. I try to shoot my fire at him but nothing happens. A memory engulfs my vision again, and I lose sight of what happens next.

I hold my hands out, desperately trying to set something on fire. My quirk is refusing to work and it's bothering Dabi. I think he's worried for me.

"You can't do anything?" He grabs my hands, confused.

"No..." I look into his eyes.

He keeps staring at my hands. A sudden burst of heat burns me.

I try to pull away but he holds on tight.

"Dabi that hurts!" I keep trying.

"Counter it, make the pain go away. If you don't, your hands could match mine." He burns his fire hotter.

But I can't. Nothing will happen. So instead I kick him, hard in his crotch. Tears flow from my eyes, falling onto my burning hands.

"Shit..." Dabi kneels, a hand holding himself.

I glare at him. "You... you..." I try harder to make my flames cool my hands off. But still it doesn't happen.

I look at my hands. All that's there is my blood. I jerk my head up, noticing people talking at the end of the alley. Chisaki says something about being her father. Eri didn't make it...
