I ran into Nala's room, ready to inform her of the event she had not yet been informed of. "Shit. Shit shit shit shit shit shit!" She yelled, never able to express her thoughts better.
"Shit's right." Sasha agreed. "Let's just put that past us and find you the most kickass outfit ever."
"I- I can't just put this past me. He knows. Torra knows everything. I just need this wedding to be over with. I get it out of the way and I'll be fine." Nala convinced herself.
"Kickass outfits. Let's go." I said before walking to Nala's gigantic wardrobe. Flipping through different shirts, I found a nice shirt with an oddly ribbed bottom where the fabric was scrunched close together. "Try this one." I tossed the shirt to Nala, who took it reluctantly. She still put it on, the sleeves surprisingly puffing to make her arms look far wider than they actually were.
"You look like a pumpkin." Sasha pointed out.
"So not happening. What else?" Nala asked.
I flipped through more shirts, finding a nice black shirt with an asymmetrical hemline. The front had a deep 'V' collar and an opposing upside-down 'V' moving up from the bottom. Only a slim strip of fabric held either side of the shirt together.
"I am an actual mother and you want me to wear that publicly?" Nala asked sarcastically.
"You're pregnant. You need to enjoy the 'hot skank' phase of you before you are taken over by stretch marks and saggy boobs." Sasha pointed out.
Nala inhaled deeply, obviously weighing the pros and cons of introducing herself in the shirt, but finally, came to the ultimatum of wearing it. "Besides. I need to have sex with him in the next three days." Nala finished. "I need to luck as . . . desirable as possible."
"Throw this on too." I instructed while throwing a pair of olive green denim jeans to Nala.
"You are really going for this whole desirable thing." I joked.
"Oh, I knew it was too much." Nala couldn't get over the fact she looked a-maze-ing.
"You look great. Just go for it." Sasha hyped.
Someone knocked loudly at the door, Nala rushing over to open it. Draya walked in, her eyes going wide at Nala's outfit, scanning up and down her body. "I knew it was too much!" Nala exclaimed.
"It is completely inappropriate for the situation at hand." Draya clarified. "You need to bless a funeral. It's in half an hour." Draya finished.
"And nobody was going to tell me?!" Nala yelled.
"Horses are waiting for the March. Lyza is also ready with the Emblem."
"March? Emblem?" Nala asked.
Nala
"The leaders ride on horses to a river with the people behind you. The Emblem is for the circle of life." Draya clarified.
"How sweet. And what does it do?" I asked.
"You wear it in between your eyebrows. Your mind."
"Poetic."
"Why do the people follow me?"
"A funeral is for the grieving phase to end. A final goodbye." Draya clarified.
"Let's go." I said before I heard anything else poetic or symbolic or representative I would actually lose my mind. "Where are the horses?"
"Waiting at the bottom of the steps." Draya answered quickly.
