Torra

"Okay." Nala said, upset by the shortness this man had. Walking out the room and down the hall, I followed her.

Nala walked quickly before slowing quickly and leaning out and holding herself up by a wall.

"Are you alright?" I called out. I jogged up to her and lifted from under her arms. "What's wrong now?"

"I don't know. Probably just the healing process." Nala answered. Nala stood up on her own, resuming a regular stand, perfectly fine. "See. I'm fine." Nala convinced.

"I can't believe you're marrying Jonah." I told.

"It's a great thing I'm not really marrying him, then." Nala reasoned.

"Plans can go wrong, and you know it." I warned. "What happens when a case, a strong one, is made? Jonah is a free man, but he is a free man with the power to overtake all of your assets, the power of nine clans."

"That will not happen because I will make sure of it. I am powerful enough to command two separate clans, each with thousands of followers, in two months with zero experience. I think I'm good." Nala said sharply, her words still barely cutting through the tension between the both of us."Besides. It'd be eight clans. My mother would send her armies in force against me. I need to prepare for . . . tomorrow, and I need your help." Nala admitted like she was ashamed.

"Oh God, you need my help." I joked.

"God?" Nala asked.

"Where have you been the past ten years?" I joked again.

"In an underground Bunker cell, rotting." Nala reminded. "I really need to go." Nala excused herself and walked down the hall. "Do me a favor and page for Andi. She needs to be in my room ASAP." Nala shouted, not even taking the time to look in my direction.

I walked down the hall towards the throne room, where Jonah and Sasha were in a fight about something. Andi was leaning on the wall, eating an apple. "Andi. Nala needs you." I stated loudly to her.

"Why? She needs help finding a hotter fiance?" Andi teased as she looked me up and down.

"The wedding has been moved to tomorrow morning. She probably needs you for something about that." I ruined Andi's joke. She was clearly surprised when she ran away from Sasha and Jonah's fight to Nala's bedroom.

"Don't you dare call me a liar!" Jonah yelled.

"In the wise words of one of the oldest, most respected stories, 'I ain't calling you a truther'." Sasha insulted. "You can't pretend all of this is yours. It's the Commander's, and you aren't her."

"But I'm marrying her tomorrow." Jonah whined.

"That doesn't make any of this yours. Those guards aren't under your command. You don't get to wander the halls. You don't get a servant team." Sasha yelled.

"You'd be better to watch your mouth." Jonah told as he advanced on Sasha. Guards immediately took formation around Sasha.

"It's amazing what happens when people don't like you." I mentioned. Jonah rolled his eyes, scoffed, and walked out of the throne room before he could receive any more humiliation.

"Thanks, Torra." Sasha mumbled as the guards resumed their position around the throne room. "You should go see your family. Kyle and Andrea were asking for you." Sasha informed.

"Okay, I'll be back for dinner, but I might be late." I told.

I went down the front stairs and walked down the streets, the stables unluckily very far away. Eventually, the stables were only a few feet ahead of me. I handed the stableman a few iron coins and took a horse.
