Nala

Snuggled comfortably inside a canopy bed, Torra's light snoring synced with my breathing. His armed held my body on his chest. I hope, this exact moment, is never forgotten. It's so calm, I was well-rested, but kept falling asleep I was so relaxed.

"Nala." Torra rubbed my back gently and kissed my forehead. My eyes were still shut tightly. The door opened and it was probably Torra's mother, but of course, I didn't check.

"Awww, how cute." A young adult squealed. "Everyone get in here!" She shouted kindly and soon enough, six pairs of boots pounded against the floor. I sat up quickly, and everyone in the house was now in Torra's bedroom. I know that I looked like a homeless bush at this point.

"Well shit." I pulled the covers back to get out of bed, picking up my clothes from the ground and laying them out on the bed. I looked at Torra to try to figure out why he hadn't gotten out of bed, and what I found was horrifying. Everyone stared back at me with horrified expressions for what seemed like the hundredth time.

"What is it?" I asked, really confused. They just stared. "What?" I asked again.

"Look down." Torra finally answered, speaking slowly and calmly.

I looked down, and staring down at me was the bright purple lingerie that Torra was so taken at. The nightgown literally did nothing. Lanca has proven that its clothing manufacturing is second to everyone.

"Well. Shit." I mumbled under my breath. The last bit that I really enjoy is everyone seeing my ass hanging out of this embarrassment for underwear.

Torra stood up and I swear to Ana, or any other gods in existence, I was going to scream. Torra stood up in the smallest pair of shorts to ever be made. He must have gotten hot during th night because he was wearing a shirt when we fell asleep.

"Do you want to leave or should I?" I said slowly before taking off the nightgown. The family rushed out and Torra moved from his otherwise sedentary position next to the bed.

"That was awful." Torra laughed and smiled brightly.

"Lucky you, they only saw you in shorts. Meanwhile, my ass is hanging out of this bright purple craft project." I slapped the band on my waist, and rather than just sympathizing with my complaint, he hooked his finger around the waistband and gently tugged at it. First, he just fidgeted with the purple fabric and pulled it upwards, but greedily dragged both sides down.

"Are you out of your mind!" I smiled and knelt down to the ground with him, both him and me smiling like a lunatic. "The door isn't even shut!" I said, and not even a moment later, Kyle had  whistled and pulled the door shut. "Torra."

"Nala."

"You are going to grab my things in the living room, bring them to me, and then I am climbing out fo this window." I put my hands on his shoulders, and pushed him towards the door as I stood up to get dressed. Torra had gotten my things obediently and laid them out on the bed, careful not to let the knives fall out of the holster.

I put on the jacket and secure the knives around my waist before opening the windows and climbing out quickly. "I'll see you soon." I smiled as he kissed my cheek through the window. His door creaked open slightly, I could hear it but he couldn't. I bit my lip seductively and whispered in Torra's ear. "Hurry to the Compound, take that secret passage directly to the throne room in thirty minutes." I whispered. "Don't take too long though. You owe me a favor." I smiled and teased, running my fingers along the inside of the waistband of his shorts.

I locked eyes with Max, who was at the door and winked before turning away from the house to the city and the Compound. Something today was different. The atmosphere around the city limits was empty. The usual hustle and bustle of the city was absent, replaced by silence. Most of the animals already migrated south and there was nothing heard until the slight murmur of the town square compelled me back towards the city.

As I walked through the gates, the towers next to the giant doors were unattended and the city looked deserted. People barely came out of their houses, only to set up the vendor stands from inside their house. I walked to the Compound, but with the increasing creepiness, I ended up sprinting to the giant palace. I scaled the staircase quickly and soon found myself in the familiar throne room.

Inside, guards routinely stood at their posts, one at each entrance, even standing in the freezing cold opening the door for any visitors entering the compound. They all bowed after opening the door and everyone had bowed as I entered. The crown was fixed on the thrown, as well as a small blade stabbed into the wooden arm of the elegant chair.

"Nala?" I heard the familiar sound of backstabbing come out of the hall. I climbed to the elevated throne and took the blade out of the arm est, sliding my finger along the razor sharp edges.

"What Andi? What could you possibly say to make all of what happened to me go away?" I said gently, but truly wanted to throw this knife into a wall.

"They stood in the bathroom and made us lie. They were four feet away from us!" Andi started to walk towards me but was greeted by a knife stabbed deep into the armrest. I stood up and begin to approach Andi.

"They were four feet away from us. FOUR FEET!" I yelled, my face so close to hers I could hear her pulse in her neck. "You speak four fucking languages. I taught you to use fucking sign language."

"Sasha's pregnant." Andi said, her voice shaking.

"She cheated." I could barely speak. The words only sounded like a whisper out of my mouth. Just like me, Andi had found love on the surface world quickly. Sasha and Andi had fallen hard for each other, but Sasha was pregnant now.

"It was a threesome." She whispered as quietly as possible.

"Too much information. What's the problem?" My voice was so tired from her bullshit.

"There isn't a problem."

"Then why did you tell me?" I asked harshly.

"Because you're my best friend. I love you." She said platonically, but the words made me want to break something.

I just stared at Andi, her blue eyes almost crying. "No." I said coldly had her tears finally fell. She bowed respectfully and left me for her bedroom, which undoubtedly had Sasha inside.

Once Andi had left crying, I requested a notebook and writing utensil and was provided one immediately. I needed to think bout something other than my feelings or I would break something or accidentally hurt someone. I sat on my throne and carved my initials on the front of the leather. CNB was on the cover and cut through the leather but not the first page, luckily. I started to start writing plans for my situation.

All I knew was that I had the Snowalkers and the Shallow Valley armies and that Aurora wants me to fuck her pathetic son. From there I can either get pregnant somehow if that's still an option or just kill everyone. For some reason, I would rather negotiate peace than fight a war. Usually, my problems would be solved with a sword, or a staff, or a blade of some sort, or just bare fists. My position in this situation needed to be dealt with peace, not blood and death and fighting.

"The Commander is not expecting her advisor." Only when the word advisor was spoken did I finally pay attention to the soldiers standing outside.

"Just ask the Commander." Torra asked from outside.

"Let him in." I told to the two soldiers stationed inside the throne room doors. The man and woman opened the doors and let Torra inside, who walked proudly. He stood before the throne and bowed quickly before climbing the stairs and peeking at my notebook.

"Notes?" Torra tilted the spine down.

"Plans."

"As your advisor," Torra said proudly. "You shouldn't risk war. You have little soldiers and even less mercenaries."

"About that. The sword—" I motioned to each sword soldiers were carrying. "—has acquired the support of both Snowwalkers and Shallow Valley, as well as the armies." I smiled and almost kissed him, but had to stop myself. I was still married, and there were ten witnesses that wouldn't lie on the stand. "You need to back up a little bit." I whispered quietly.

Torra deepened his expression and took a step back. As Torra leaned down to whisper something in my ear, soldiers outside of the throne had let Aurora, Joseph, and Jonah into the throne room.
