Nala
I fell asleep. I dreamt of awful, married life as an enslaved housewife. A drunken husband slurring his words while hitting on a common whore outside our cramped house. Life was awful.
Knocking and squeals interrupted the hell I was made to experience. "Time to wake, sleeping beauty!" A loud woman yelled from behind the door. Sasha got the door, letting in at least ten strangers into my room.
"Oh, how darling." The loud woman swelled with admiration. "The Great Chief's Son will be pleased with her." The woman praised. I shuddered at the comment.
"Maybe a Great ass." Andi whined into the pillow, pulling the covers over her head.
"Good morning, Commander." Draya knocked but pushed the door open. She pulled a cart with breakfast into the room for me, Andi, and Sasha. Draya parked the cart and sat on the foot of the bed surprising the Rockline women.
Sasha took her plate of food to sit next to Draya and gave Andi hers. I took a small bite of the coddled egg and set the wooden bowl back down. "What time is it?" I asked Draya.
"Almost ten. Three hours to the wedding." Draya asked, immediately sparking a thousand thoughts in my mind.
"Then why am I getting up so early?" That was the first thought to be said. The giant white dress that was wheeled into my room seemed overly extra for five hours.
"Shopping, meal arrangements, honeymoon arrangements, political arrangements, and we are still waiting for Jonah's mother to come." Draya dragged.
"Can we arrange for a nap before the political but after the honeymoon arrangements?" I asked, and the women laughed behind weird accordion things. "What are those?" I asked.
"Fans." The loud woman walked over and handed me hers. I stepped out of bed and accepted the red wooden thing, flipping it open. "Whoa." I handed it back carefully, not knowing what to expect.
"So . . . spirited." The loud woman complemented skeptically. "Should we get you ready for the day?"
"I think I'm fine." I stood and walked to the wardrobe, picking an outfit from some of the dark-colored clothes.
"You can't seriously expect to wear that today?" Andi shouted. "You look ready for a funeral." Andi crawled out of bed and joined me. "I heard a rumor you had another dress planned for the pre-wedding period." Andi nudged my shoulder.
"It's in the hall." The loud woman smiled. Two of her friends went into the hall and retrieved the dress, pulling a giant frame on wheels. The dress wasn't as awful as I expected, but all the white fabric was a little extra.
"Alright." I agreed, immediately regretting. The Rockline women pulled the dress off the rack and handed it to Andi, who walked into the bathroom. I grabbed a few undergarments from the wardrobe and followed Andi quickly before the women could ring up anything up.
"Are you out of your mind!" I yell-whispered.
"No. Just letting you enjoy every bit of your wedding day." Andi remarked as she snatched the undergarments in my hand. I took off the nightgown I had worn while the loud lady entered the bathroom.
"Oh my! You're as naked as a baby!" She exclaimed. "And my, so skinny! We must get you a better breakfast." The woman had slammed open the door and let her friends walk in to look at me naked.
"My she is."
"She should get some food now."
"Not some, a lot."
