The group of pogues got out of the boat, stepping up onto the docks. It was hectic for some odd reason. There were other townspeople gathered around the docks and the coast guard was set up there. Of course, it wouldn't be the oddest thing in the world since there was just a hurricane. It still made Willow feel a bit uneasy that it appeared there were multiple people and animals missing.
Once the five of them walked up to the coast guard tent, John B and JJ went in to talk to one of the coast guards while the other three remained outside of the tent. Willow glanced over her shoulder as she saw a little girl holding onto her fathers hand as it seemed he was talking about his missing wife. She had blonde hair just like hers, which made her think about what it would've been like if she had actually known who her father was. Of course, it was never a shock that her mother didn't know who her dad was because apparently she slept around quite a lot before becoming pregnant with her. Willow wasn't judging her, but it would've been nice for her to actually keep track.
Growing up, Willow had these fantasies about her father. She always hoped he was a kind guy who would've loved having a daughter. The only thing that she truly knew about him was that he was a pogue. Amelia Bradshaw never slept around with any kooks or any tourons because she liked to have a man who wouldn't judge her for where she stayed and who she could go back to sleep with again any time she wanted. So it came down to the fact that the man that was her father was still in the Outer Banks because no pogue has left the island in a long time.
Drawing her away from her focus on the little girl and her father, she heard Kie's voice say, "You okay?"
Quickly snapping back into reality, her head spun around to look at her friend. She noticed the concern in her eyes, but she brushed it off. "Yeah, of course. Why wouldn't I be?"
"Seems to me your daddy issues are thriving again.", Pope concluded, making Willow give him a gentle smile. It didn't bother her one bit to see her friends joke about her problems, mainly because they all knew she coped with humor. Anything that bothered her, they'd help her out by joking about it alongside her; most of the time, depending on how serious it was.
"Oh, please. My daddy issues are always thriving.", She laughed, turning her head to see JJ and John B walk up to them as JJ cocked his head to the side in amusement at her statement.
"Need help with those issues?", He grinned slyly, making her scoff. "Come on, daddy's here."
"JJ.", Kie looked at him in disgust, watching as Willow just stared at him with her eyebrows raised. John B shook his head, laughing at his best friend while Pope ran his hand over his face in annoyance.
"You want to help me with my issues, huh?", She chuckled, crossing her arms over her chest before glancing between her other friends. They all shook their head, not even wanting to hear what she had to say. "Well, JJ..."
"Before you say anything else, can we focus on the fact we found an actual boat underwater?", John B cut her off, making the two blondes avert their gazes towards the other three pogues.
